Back to the 80's (aka the Bodacious Billet Build-off)
Oldcarfan27 replied to Mr. Metallic's topic in Community Builds
Jordan, that Ford will look amazing when you're done. Keep on going! What color is the body going to be, Pink or Florescent Orange? Don't laugh, I was there when that was the trend. Kinda reminds me of Baby Blue Tuxedos, or White linen jackets and loafers with no socks nowadays. Huh? -

I find it a very enticing display. Very eye catching - hope it works! -
Snowman truck and trailer
Oldcarfan27 replied to keone2013's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Remember, In the movie they were going to take the $80k and "buy a new rig". So if you look, the truck actually looks a little worn and shabby. The paint could just be black that's weathered somewhat. Definitely not a new truck, or why would they want another new one? -
If just one vegetable is saved, then it would all be worth it. ?

Kits in Walmart For Christmas
Oldcarfan27 replied to OldNYJim's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Maybe with all this Covid stay at home orders, the market for hobbies has picked up enough that WallyMart has taken notice. Hopefully, it can continue after Christmas. -
Pretty sure they do pay attention to forums like these. Look at all the cool stuff they keep finding and releasing. Plus, do you think they would be investing so much time, effort and money in fixing old kits if they didn't have an inkling that it might sell? Some folks can criticize them for not making new tool kits, but they have a niche they've tapped into and they've got vast equity in all that they have. Think about it - Round 2 has reissued kits we never knew still existed and after all these years they still haven't found everything. That's quite a huge inventory! Doesn't hurt to keep reminding them.

Very clever, I'd love to have this for my home. My family is huge BTTF fans! Casey, does this count as a religious topic?

MPC 69 Charger hood variations
Oldcarfan27 replied to Oldcarfan27's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
See how #s 2, 3 and 5 are incorrect for a 69. With #5 being the most weak detailed and muddy in the scallop area. #1 and 4 are correct, but for some reason never ends up in any current reissue of the kit. AFAIK. I wonder what happened to it? -
Kits in Walmart For Christmas
Oldcarfan27 replied to OldNYJim's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
$7? Where do you see them for $7. I see them starting at $14.97 and go up from there. Or are you already anticipating the after Christmas blowout? -
Kits in Walmart For Christmas

Good selection and good prices. I hope my WM gets some, but I doubt it. Funny how the Coca Cola kits carry a premium price. Must be targeting the collectors. -
Then where does the driver sit?

De Foosing the FD-100

I never realized how close to stock the Foose cab is. I just assumed the whole body was massaged so that nothing was left alone. Now I'm going to have to find a Foose for my own. You've inspired me! -
Oooo, I like it on a GTO! Now I have to decide on this or turquoise. Decisions, decisions.

I bought a bunch of these cheap when nobody else wanted them. I don't know if anyone is aware, but the chassis, engine compartment and engine parts fit really well in both the AMT and MPC 71-73 Mustangs. Adds much more detail than their original parts! And you can use the roof to create a Mustang Grande.
