Quick question...
Oldcarfan27 replied to NOBLNG's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Of course, that'll work! Use the new one as bait. Just save the receipt so you can return the new one after you find it!! -
Yes they did and yes they are. Lindberg first released them in those hideous red stripe boxes in the early 90s. Others have compared the molds, and they are indeed the Palmer tools. I just wish the Mustang was still a 70, I want to work on that one sooo bad! I know it wasn't perfect, but I think I could improve it!

As a matter... That's one of mine. Going to a store or garage sale and finding buuco model kits, many I've never seen before. As I'm trying to gather the ones I want, the boxes change and I keep losing all the good ones. Finally I wake up and realize I don't have any of them - Bummer! Dream variation #2. I get them all, but find out I don't have the money to buy them - Worse Bummer!

Dodge Caravan Surf Wagon
Oldcarfan27 replied to zakdoggi's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Best use I've ever seen of that kit! Way to dazzle up such a dull ride. I didn't know that there were surfer soccer moms! -
Revell Ford Bronco on steroids...
Oldcarfan27 replied to cruz's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Looks toooo nice. With all of that heavy equipment, it needs some dirt and dents! ? -
I didn't know Revell made a kit of one of these. My favorite Jag, I like it better than the XKE. The only one I ever knew of was the Monogram Diecast hybrid from almost 40 years ago and I've never found one of those since then.

That color works!

Glad to see this thread got revived. Love seeing all the famous vehicles (and aircraft). Great posts all, keep it up!!

Looks like a factory color to me! Great deal for 6 bucks!
-
Looks good! I've never seen one of these built. Now I want one!

This, the Boss 302, the Challenger and the never released 40 Ford coupe (by Palmer, anyway). They were the best they got. After that, they went right back to junk!

Jay Leno and the Hemi Under Glass
Oldcarfan27 replied to SCRWDRVR's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
All I could think was, it was a good thing Jay held his hands inside the car. A couple times it looks as if they could have easily gone out the window while it was rolling. I hate to think what could have been!! Glad they both walked away unhurt and laughed about it right after. -
Do you know this 1:1 C cab???

Wow Doc, that's heavy!! "There's that word heavy again. What's the matter? In the future, is there a problem with the earth's gravitational pull?"
-
Great work Tim! I don't have the Street Rodder article, so please forgive me for asking, But which kit did you start from - AMT, MPC, Monogram, or Revell? If I'm not mistaken, the Revell kit came out around '96, so that's probably not it. If it was the AMT, then color me very impressed! That would've taken a lot of work to do what you described.

James Bond Underwater Car

I hope you find that picture - would love to see it! Hard to believe a Bond car ended up in a junkyard. -
Monogram 1960 Chevy Sedan Delivery
Oldcarfan27 replied to Greg Myers's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Long ago, I started a 59 and 60 SDs using the Revell Impalas, but the tops looked chopped - too long and too low. I also had to straighten out the slanted door opening. But fixing the roof discrepancy alluded me, until using scribed sheet plastic was brought up on this thread! That would also fix the sunroof hole at the same time. Great idea, Brian!!! -
Subaru Brat

I like it! Now I want to find one. -
Me too! But I'm afraid that R/M may have modified the tool to make the 70 T/A that we've been seeing since the 90s. Just like AMT redid their 77 Camaro into the first 70 Z28 in the 90s - not the new tool that we see now.

TV "Star"cars that never were kited
Oldcarfan27 replied to ranma's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes!! With Round 2's reissue of the Dodge LB pickup, add the 4x4 suspension 1980 cab and hood and decals. Good enough for me! They could also make it a series, using this kit... For this car... And this.... For this.... Or Honorable Mention if Monogram reissues this one.
