  1. Looks like it was somebody's finished project before it burned. Sad. Restorers note - When a car has 70 year old wiring, probably a wise idea to go through and replace it!
  2. Till the wind blows it off!! That reminds me, how come there are no conversions for Smart cars? ANYTHING would have to be an improvement!
  3. Was there ever a buildup or feature of this van in Car Craft Magazine? As there is a photo of the real thing on the box, I thought there was. But I have never found any other pictures of it anywhere else.
  4. Did old cars have VINs stamped into their parts back then? If so, I think they would've had a case for prosecuting whoever owned that station wagon. "Illegal Possession of Stolen Goods" or "Grand Theft Auto"
  5. Another great trade with Scott8950. Great stuff and described exactly as he said. No surprises. Have no hesitation to send him my stuff first, I know he'll follow through. Till next time, Buddy! ☆☆☆☆☆
  6. Judging by where you live and from what I can see here, the rust probably took over most of these cars decades ago. It's amazing they lasted as long as they did!
  7. You're absolutely right, my bad. I misread the pictures. Guess it's my PTSD kickin' in.
  8. Check out Murrilee Martin's website "thetruthaboutcars.com" He cruises western junkyards searching for interesting oddball cars. I've spent many an hour looking at some cool cars that ended their lives at the PYP's that he's visited.
  9. I get the corollation between the cars' origin and the decals. But Japanese markings on an American Ford?
  10. Looks great! For a period correct 70s look, you should add lace panels to it. Pretty sure I saw one that looked just like that car.
  11. The sausage guy might have. That car is just full of pork!
  12. That's just a direct rip-off! They should've called it the "Makewind 2000"
  13. Let's not forget the Fiero-rari And the 240Z GTO fake: Real! Although I have to admit, the 308 and GTO look pretty good to me.
  14. It says the tool broke and was repaired, it doesn't say when or that it was ruined and HAD to be made into a puller 4x4 truck. In fact, the body and much of the chassis and basic interior parts are still stock. So if they still have the hood, cap, seats, bumpers and wheels - the stock Blazer could still be available. But are those parts still around? I really want to see the Blazer/Jimmy come back!
  15. If Round 2 is going to do any reissuing of this old hat, this has GOT TO BE THEEE one that they do!!! Include the fleetside bed and put it in this Retro Box art and I'd be stoked about this one! We all know that all the tooling still exists for this setup, so why they haven't brought this back out is beyond me.
  16. And why would they do that??!! I would've thought that they had learned their lessons decades ago, not to permanently modify tooling into one-off limited interest subjects. Then again, years ago I thought I had read somewhere that Monogram didn't permanently change anything, they only added/subtracted inserts to make different subjects. I'm hoping that tale will someday prove to be true, especially with the Blazer.
  17. My question is, did you set the price or was it bid up to that amount? If it was bid to that amount, then the market dictated the price and that's what they wanted to pay. No guilt in whether they were satisfied - that's what THEY felt it was worth!
  18. Funny, but true! Better yet, tell 'em it's a LARGE trunk, so it can't be classified as a pickup.
  19. From the title, this isn't the simple kit I was thinking of. But this is a better surprise. Don't get too bogged down with the details, so we can see it finished. Best wishes!
  20. Thanks, Scott.
  21. Replaced wheel well trim on front fenders. Simply used a wide strip of .020 plastic and attached it around the inside of the openings, then sanded and trimmed it to just a hair out from the fender. Once painted and trimmed, it should look like it's part of the original molding. My plan is to just reuse the Firebird interior, as I'm getting a little burned out on this project. I'm not even going to go through the trouble of removing the convertible bolsters on the sides. The MPC interior is a little smaller than the Revell body, so I have to "fatten" it up with sheet plastic to fill the gaps. Next up - I will fit the Camaro chassis and find some sort of Pontiac engine for it. I mostly, want to get this project painted and set up to see if the bodywork was worth all the effort.
  22. That's a cool parts box! I'm liking the look of this. Not too sure of the gas tank on top of the cover, right behind the driver's head - maybe put it IN the bed, below the cover. Would be a safer idea. Needs to have a beast of an engine to go with it. Maybe with a giant blower on top of it.
  23. I haven't heard one person complaining on this one - except..... Don't be a troll - let it go.
  24. And waaay better than the original sequel from 1980.?
  25. Now we know where all the toilet paper went - back to GA! Hope Big and Little Enos Burdett are "celebrating in style"! It also explains why Sheriff Buford T was sooooo determined to catch them!
