  1. I added screenshots to this thread. The auction ended, and without pictures, it's like being on the outside of an inside joke.
  2. Might be a bit of a warpage issue. That rear end shot does make the fenders look a little wonky. Try setting each of the parts on a perfectly flat surface and see if they all sit flat and evenly on it. If any of them don't, that might be your problem. If they do, try checking the parts for any signs of a bow distortion that would cause them to fit wrong. Another suggestion would be, if you have another one of these kits, try fitting these parts to that kit and see if it's the same problem. Can't believe they all fit like that.
  3. FYI, did you know that those seats look a lot like the ones in the AMT Ford Ranger kit?
  4. I like the Cobra engine idea. Hopefully, you have better luck blending in the Pintera parts than I did. They just didn't work for me. I wish they were Pangra parts instead.
  5. I remember a favorite car book when I was young, about two car owners - one took care of his car, the other one drove it hard. I recall the book compared both owners to the longevity of their cars. I wish I could remember more details about the title, the author or even the cover, because I sure would like to see that book again. It was a book I checked out from the library, over and over again. I loved the illustrations and would draw them into my own "car crash" stories. I remember the cars kind of looking like 60s sports cars. Like Mercedes SL roadsters or MGs. Little two-seaters. Anybody have any recollections?
  6. Good model building is good modelling, no matter the subject matter. That's what it's all about! I'm so blown away thinking that everything your building started out as nothing more than sheet plastic. I see very little pre-made parts you're using. Magnificent job!
  7. Same parts and instructions were included in all annuals all the way to '81, maybe even in the reissues following.
  8. I have to ask why someone would save a 4 door Maverick with no miles on it? It's not an exciting or collectible type of car. Still, you can clearly tell it hasn't been messed with or restored, too many correct details on it. And it's a type of car no one would spend that kind of money to restore to this condition. It would have cost a lot more than it sold for to restore.
  9. I wish you had downloaded the pics from this ad, the car is sold now and the ad is gone. ?
  10. Build looks amazing!
  11. Really nice build, Vince. I didn't know that the MPC kit could look so good, the box art certainly doesn't do it any justice. Might have to build one myself after seeing yours!
  12. There is (was) a die cast West Coast Choppers in 1/24 scale. Doesn't look too bad. I have one and I used paint thinner and a Q-tip to remove the flames and roof logo. I wanted to change the wheels and paint the roof white to make it more "mainstream". Details are nice for an inexpensive toy.
  13. I've always wanted to convert the 4 door Ford Galaxie Police Interceptor or the Monaco into a wagon. Maybe Round 2 will do it for me! ???
  14. Sounds like the old proverb about the restoration of George Washington's hatchet.
  15. Learn something new every day. Still, it doesn't fit with the time period of the van. Coke bottles were clear by 1977.
  16. Wha??! When did Coke ever come in GREEN bottles? 7up yes, Coke no.
  17. I could see it with crates of bottles in the back. Better yet, how 'bout the Depot Hack with vintage Coca-Cola logos and bottles in it! I know, it's not a wagon, but it would be cool anyway.
  18. Even the military guys know a good car model when they see it! Well deserved award Steve.
  19. Now I finally have an idea for a couple of those Palmers that I've had floating around my junk box for years! If it took them 4 months to sell just 50 - they'd go broke trying to sell an annual run of them. Oh how I miss the days when aesthetics and proportions were considered when designing a car. Bill Mitchell, oh how we need you today!
  20. I'd like to trade you for them, Snake. Pm me - your box isn't taking any messages.
  21. Well if I have to dream, I love them wood-sided estates! Don't like the wood? Make it a decal as an option.
  22. Mannix convertible. An easy one for Revell.
