  1. So funny! Puts the whole box art into perspective.
  2. I miss this kit. The turbo assembly was miles ahead of the MPC kit. Forever I've wanted to make an accurate 80 Indy Pace Car with it. Maybe a Smokey and the Bandit 2 as well. Hopefully I'll stumble across one or two someday.
  3. Looks great! I like the finish on the wheels, takes away the toy-like appearance from the original.
  4. Here it is on Haggerty https://www.hagerty.com/media/buying-and-selling/ed-roth-mysterion-is-gone-so-one-superfan-built-his-own/
  5. Oh boy, have I got some good (bad?) ones for this thread. What's this, A cat "barfing" out a hairball? No it's just a car. Hope the driver pits soon, he just ran over the flagman and the flag is still stuck in the tire! A Nomad with a "surfer hood ornament". I know, heresy you say, but it still looks funny. Look out! Peter Graves just got run over by his own car! Where is this Porsche going? Right into the sign post! This kit is just absurd. A crazy chimpanzee driving a hot rodded - SHOE?!! Why?
  6. I found an original years ago at the model train expo for $5 (no kidding, never underestimate finding deals in oddball places). If anyone is interested, I could pull it out and take pictures of the parts count.
  7. I never knew there was a "Merury Cogar" Smart Car. ?
  8. That car looks very familiar to me: Found this one in somebody's driveway many years ago. Looks very similar to your idea!
  9. That was a Charlie Rich song, not Charlie Pride.
  10. Nice truck, looks like new! Too bad you had to replace the engine in it already.
  11. This is like a soap opera - I can't wait to see what happens next!!
  12. ?????
  13. I enjoy seeing builds of mainstream cars and somehow I forgot about this Bel Air being available with a small block. Well done! BTW, where did you source the engine? 55 Chevy or Cameo?
  14. That's a neat idea, a Subi on a VW pan. A Brat-Buggy. Just needs some paddle tires and a desolate place in the desert. That would be fun in real life! Very creative.
  15. Yeah, at the going price of the original annual.
  16. Don't bring up viruses right now, I'm tired of wearing a mask. ?
  17. Yeah, but don't forget about the "Great Garages" by Estes (the rocket company). They copied tools and parts from R&D Unique (IIRC), got sued and lost.
  18. Wouldn't that be called a "Maxi Cooper"?
  19. Interesting question. I didn't think there was so many "provisos" to it's answer though. But I never really considered a separation of AMT between owners. A company is a company. Chrysler isn't owned by the same company that it was back in the 70s, but it's still Chrysler.
  20. That's just wrong on sooo many levels. But I'll bet that thing could fly!!!!
  21. All of the kits in this series have simple, curbside, promo-style chassis with plastic axles. They are glue, not snap together. Molded in their respective colors. Bodies are accurate looking with detailed interiors. No options - only able to build the version on the box. In other words, they are good if you like whats on the box.
  22. I found a Kylon spray in Home Depot that looks a lot like Curious Yellow. It's called Citrus Green. Only problem is the paint needs to be decanted and airbrushed, otherwise it seems to dry grainy. It can be polished, but it's an unnecessary chore that's best bypassed. Good color match though.
  23. Just do your measurements and drilling before you paint so you can make sure they're positioned correctly before finishing. And put a drop of glue on the inside of the body to avoid visible glue smears.
  24. I think it looks great!
