  1. I was wondering the same thing. Never understood why they removed the ribs (which were accurate) to recreate the original issue (which weren't). I hope someday the original A-Team van can come back, I really liked that version of the van. BTW, is your van going to be an ice cream truck? I'd like to see more of that one. Are you doing a WIP thread?
  2. Well, that is the "Superfly in the ointment!" Thanks for the update, Steve.
  3. If it's in China, chances are it will stay there whether it's ever used again or not. It seems that country is a black hole for corporate assets. Whatever gets sent there gets confiscated and never gets out.
  4. Actually, you primed the pump! Showed us how good the kit can look in USPS livery. Because of your build, I'd like to try my hand at one!
  5. These are all so funny! But how did you get so many pictures of my work?
  6. I have one. It's almost a stock 72 GP, save for the goofy grille and headlights and the cantilevered roof. I also have a built up Super Fly that I got ages ago, and the roof is intact with a half vinyl top and a sunroof molded in. I'm building that one as a 72 Hurst GP. I'd love to see this kit come back - warts and all!
  7. 68 RR customizing car? I guess we'll soon see.
  8. Here's the Lincoln. Although, I do think the wheelbase is a little long behind the door. The rest is just a stunning inspiration for your 40!
  9. Yahoo.com stated that "Alternative in the 1980s basically meant anything that mainstream radio wouldn’t play. Which was mostly everything back then. You had to either have an “alternative” station or a college radio station available to hear most of these acts." In the 80s the music labels were: Alternative Rock - New Order, Depeche Mode, The Cure, The Smiths, Tears for Fears, English Beat. Pop - Madonna, New Kids on the Block, Bananarama. Top 40 - Cyndi Lauper, Huey Lewis & the News, Men at Work, Police. R&B - Prince, Michael Jackson, Commodores, Luther Vandross. Heavy Metal - Metallica, Queensryche, Motorhead, Ozzy. Classic Rock - Rolling Stones, Beatles, Who. Album Rock - Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Yes. Punk - The Clash, Ramones, Sex Pistols. Pop Metal (Hair Bands) - Slaughter, Ratt, Warrant, Motley Crue. Disco - You know it when you hear it! Some labels got played on multiple radio formats, none got played on ALL formats!
  10. Looks like he got caught running across it while it was in the spray booth!
  11. I wasn't objecting, I did ask you about it. It's all good!
  12. Old tires aren't actually black, but more a charcoal and dark brown with grey inside the treads and never shiny. I'm a proponent for plastic tires. They can be painted in any colors with no downside of coming off or stickiness. Look carefully at how the light shows the shades and textures.
  13. Maybe they can get Tom Cruise' picture on the fender and call it good! Wouldn't be any less accurate than the original.
  14. C'mon guys. I like the conversation and don't need the bickering. Steering it back, I do hope the Grand Prix can come back in one form or another, I just don't think retooling the Super Fly is what's coming out.
  15. Back on topic. Maybe this?
  16. Or 67-70.5 Firebird seats.
  17. In the 80s, here in California we had "The world famous KROQ", the music they played was mostly new British bands and quirky songs you wouldn't hear on Top 40 or Album Rock stations. So when I hear the term Alternative Rock, I think "KROQ" music.
  18. Would "Amazon" decals make it GO faster?
  19. I left mine with fenders and stock grille shell. Sedan body required more work than I felt like doing at the time, so it stalled.
  20. Pretty sure the roofline was the same. Nothing a few carefully placed strips of Evergreen can't cure.
  21. Did you build a model of it? That's one replica I'd like to see.
