1978 Ford F250
Oldcarfan27 replied to Chuck Most's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
That truck's right on the money! I like the baseline grille with round headlights. Weathering is spot on too! Must've been a bear cleaning off the trim inside the grooves on the sides. -
Perfect color choice. I always liked yellow Boss 302s

I've heard this is a tough kit to build. I have a few parts of one and I can see how the multi-piece body would be tricky to get right, but looks like you overcame the obstacles and completed a very clean rendition. Very nice!

That looks cool. I'd love to build an American spec model of that! Is that an Aoshima kit?

What's in the box, Revell 66 Chevelle.

2 intakes, 2 sets of seats, 2 hood scoops, 2 transmissions. Only one set of wheels. Sigh at what could have been. -
BTW, That is "fur'ner". ?

Neighborhoods near me think it's appropriate to not only shoot off illegal fireworks a WEEK before July 4th, but every holiday that has a flag in it. New Years lasts almost all night. People have no clue what the holidays are for, they just need a reason to get high, get drunk and blow off a few fingers in the process. That is considered a good time.

This is why I dislike old threads with dropped photos. The topic is still interesting, but without pics it's like pulling into a gas station that has no gas! "Drive on to the next one boys, nuthin' to see here."

Now there's a TV show I haven't heard about in a long time! Nice 3D print!

I was thinking of using the roof from the Revell "shorty" and using it to fill in the pickup truck area in the AMT. Avalanche is just a Suburban with a bed.

Glad to see the lightbars finally coming out and I can see a few ideas for the Escalade. Adding a roof to the back, I'd like to see someone convert one into a TRUE Escalade ESV. Might have to be me. Oh and so no one cries, here is the consumer warning that should be on the Corvette box! THE 62 CORVETTE IS ORIGINALLY FROM 1962 AND DOES NOT HAVE FULLY DETAILED WIPER MOTOR OR TURN SIGNALS!

I thought two were Chevelle caps, but I thought the other two with the slots were 63 Impala caps from the annual?

Someone Explain This Sign to Me, Please.

Think it's more common than we care to believe. -

Revell 1969 Camaro SS 396 - Kit contents
Oldcarfan27 replied to RDean58's topic in Car Kit News & Reviews
Funny thing about this particular tool. Seeing completed copies of this Camaro for so many years and then seeing how bad the MPC and Monogram versions are, makes me wonder how we ever got along without the Revell kit! -
What kind of thinner did you use for your clear? I've heard some folks use lacquer thinner to reduce enamel paint and that could have an effect on the enamels structure. If there was too much lacquer in the clear it not only could've changed the ratio of the clear, but also re-activated the lacquer underneath. Causing both paints to cure at different rates.

1964 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible.
Oldcarfan27 replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Steve, you seem to find details most of us don't even think to add! Seriously, radio control knobs, detailed door panels, dash trim, speaker grilles and even an OPEN ash tray? Incredible! You gonna put ashes in it? This was the 60s, you know. -

I had no idea what you've been going through. I'm glad you're doing better. I'm also glad to still have you here! -

I don't see any rage here, this one turned out to be a thread for comedy central! ? Eleven laugh clicks, so far!
