  1. Best part about all those old TV shows is you get to see real old cars in their native habitats. No gussied up, chrome embellished, dazzling restorations there. Just unrestored, original gennies, folks! Perfect for getting that "just right", period perfect patina. And many of the shows, especially Jack Webb produced, had themes based on real life true stories. So there is some sense if authenticity to them.
  2. Great diorama - love the lights and the action!
  3. That's a great idea. All these years and I never even thought about having them print out a sheet. Price is definitely affordable. Do they do colors or just black?
  4. Thanks Steve. Why can't that also be used to hold down bad BMF?
  5. All it needs us a mouth full of teeth. And they could name it Predator!?
  6. So I guess he thought the 4 speed, dual-quad, posi-traction 409 wasn't so fine. There, now you got the song stuck in your head!
  7. I have used HVAC duct tape and while it does go on OK, it tends to be too thick to expose fine details. The adhesive is also thicker and more gooey, so the foil will get distorted with handling and may shift over time. It leaves big wrinkles on curved surfaces. I remember there used to be a hobby adhesive meant for foil and I recall a builder using the cheapest, thinnest kitchen foil he could find and putting it on with the adhesive. I wonder if that adhesive is still for sale?
  8. Those'll only be available on EV cars. No place to plug them in on ICE cars. ?
  9. Can you design the car in multiple parts? IE: body, front grille area and rear panel area and then glue them together? The problem you're having is the same problem model makers have been having since day one. That's why they position the separate parts where they can get the best detail. But what do I know, I don't have a 3d printer.
  10. Uhh, those are for the pickup trucks. Totally different thread. These are the vans... Bonus points for these... The Revell California Cruiser Van used to have nice Chevyvan emblems on it's front fenders, until they swiped off the "Chevy" and just left "Van". Either they lost the license or they took it off when they did the Hardy Boys Van - which was a GMC.
  11. Looks a bit dented too. Didn't know fiberglass dented - just breaks!
  12. Real pictures are nice but where is the model? SerIously, whatever shortcomings the original kit has, you certainly overcame them and completed a beautiful replica.
  13. Anybody notice that the warehouse that they got refrigerated Coors beer from WASN'T refrigerated?
  14. Except this is a 2 door Explorer Sport and the movie truck was a 4 door XLT. So near and yet so far.
  15. I'm talking about loose fitting galvanized panels attached with sheetmetal screws and no provisions for weatherseal around the opening. Must be great on all that technology when water gets in there. I know, it's just a showcar and not a well thought out one at that.
  16. Wait, did you actually make that Camaro look good? Why yes you did! You've got to show Snake45 what this looks like! He'll never believe this came from a "Backbirth" Camaro kit.
  17. I checked out both of these products, problem is neither one includes the emblems for the stock versions of these vans. I personally could use "Chevyvan 10, 20 and 30. VanDura and Beauville.
  18. With the amount of my recently completed builds, I've been on the "journey" for a long time and have yet to reach a "destination". But, I've been having a good drive in the mean time! ?
  19. My thanks to those who sacrificed their lives to give us the freedom we all enjoy! "Freedom isn't Free" Thank You to all who have served!
  20. You still paid 100% over list price and it's already built. You got took!! Seriously, I think the value of original issue kit verses the reissues depends somewhat on what parts originally came in it and how much the condition of the tool has deteriorated over the years. Box art, special paraphernalia, decals and the color and quality of the plastic can all have an impact on the value too. Most importantly, mint condition and unbuilt means EVERYTHING to the strict collector. The rest of us will settle for whatever we can get at a good price.
