  1. And not a Pinto in the bunch! ? Sorry Faust.
  2. More pics please! I never find great stuff like that at any of my thrift stores.
  3. IIRC, the design was approved by Semon "Bunkie" Knudsen with input from Larry Shinoda, who both had come from GM and were both fired soon after this.
  4. By definition of promo, shouldn't they be giving them away to entice buyers? ?
  5. You don't know how the wealthy elite thinks. Check out any copy of People magazine for examples.
  6. Thanks Bob. Looks like his last posts were right before his accident. That's why we haven't heard from him. I'm at a loss for words. ?
  7. Was that the Tweedy Pie/Rodfather kit? That came out nice. I really like the suspension swap from the Buttera kits, I'll have to do that on one of mine.
  8. That's not a hair, it's a curb feeler - in accurate scale! Bet you didn't know Tim was that OCD about accuracy, did you?
  9. Nice to know they've got electric vehicles to take the place of ICE cars. Now if they can only keep from killing us!! Good Grief, are you kidding me? How long have they been designing lug nuts? Or are they literally trying to redesign the wheel?
  10. That IS the Delorean based car! Thank You Mr. Barris, another fine mess you've gotten us into. Marty McFly should have had this disaster hit by the train when he got back to 1985.
  11. 1:1 painters do cars just like Mark said. Paint all around the jambs, ancillary parts and general color all around. Then attach the pieces CLOSE TO, BUT NOT ON the main assembly for final coats. This is to match the metallic flakes/candy tint all over the car, so you don't have a patchwork of mismatched doors and trim.
  12. Sad to hear we lost one of our own. I wanted to read some of his posts, but search feature doesn't work for just members. Can anyone share some posts?
  13. I have both of those Hot Wheels, saved from my childhood. I remember the HotBird, but I never knew the truck was called Highwayman. I've got the bird in black, blue and gold plated. The truck is in yellow with the orange plow, a lime green one and a metallic blue one with Real Rider tires. Thanks for the memories. That's a fun idea, making models of classic diecast cars.
  14. I'd be sceptical about an operating aluminum all metal model with 500+ pieces and ONLY $53. Me smells a scam! Although, the $500 kit is a little fishy too. What does it have that makes it cost so much?
  15. Then again slap a certain soda carrier with the red and white swirl on it and anything becomes marketable. Include a vending machine and I'm in!
  16. Have you guys been to the pump lately? Plastic is made from the same sources.
  17. Saw this on Ebay, looks cool. Just too dear for this poor soul.
  18. Problem is, all the tooling that was used to make this version were "touched" to make the stocker. Body, chassis, interior shell, front and rear bumpers. So, unlike the Olds conv. there isn't much left of the original tool. Same with the Buick Skylark. However, I think there would be a justifiable selling market for the Buick, not so much for the Delta 88.
  19. No need to rush, everything is coming along great.
  20. I like the hole on the door panels, in preparation for the lock buttons. The more you look, the more you see. Steve, I think you were born in the wrong scale!?
  21. If they won't let you know who they are - dump it right away. I'm the same way with screening my calls - no talk, no dice. If they can't be up front with who they are, they don't need my time.
