  1. Very sharp. Echoing the above that is a real cool color combo. Well done. Sure wish I could find a set of those headers! To the best of my knowledge they were only in the Street T issue of that kit. Rare indeed.
  2. Very authentic. Well done!
  3. Good points. If there's no one around I'll leave my coupon there on the shelf where hopefully someone will find it.
  4. I found a '29 at my local HL a few days ago. Snagged it with a 40% coupon. It was the only one there. No '30's.
  5. Very cool. The Hudson caps are brilliant. Well done.
  6. To add to the above I would recommend a using tripod or some other camera support device.
  7. Testor's makes a line of "metalizer" sprays that can duplicate the finish of most non chrome mag wheels. They also make some of these shades in bottles you can use to brush on to small areas. I have been using these for years and am pleased with the results. They are also good for some engine, exhaust and suspension components. Hope this helps. good luck and welcome back to the hobby!
  8. Outstanding build of a rare kit! Well done.
  9. Should be..... I have a few old built ups that are clear. Outstanding build Rex! Great to see one built.
  10. Yeah I agree. Having accomplished a few restos I tend to look through all the junk to see what's there and what could be done to turn these old built ups into something a bit more sensible. Like I posted earlier..it does have good potential, but not for that price!
  11. Maybe,,maybe not. That's just how we built them back then. It was just pure fun and creativity. We built them the way we wanted to, the way they looked good to us, and if that required using all the parts in the box...so be it. Sometimes all the decals on the sheet as well. A lot of us had to mow a few lawns, do a few odd jobs or collect a cart full of soda bottles to be able to go the five and dime and buy one of these kits. If you were lucky a can and a few square bottles of Testor's PLA. Yes it was a blast, and there were no internet critics.
  12. I see solid bones and the makings of a slick mild custom there with a little work...but not for that price.
  13. I agree with the others on the BIN sealer. I experimented here on a Orange Hauler body. A coat of the BIN then a heavy coat of HOK white base, No bleed through. I've also heard that a final coat of Future (or whatever it's called now) before paint makes a great sealer too but I haven't tried that. I have had some lower quality primers crack like that and I agree stripping the body (with the process of your choice) and starting over is the best way to go, Just my 2 cents.
  14. Interesting and creative styling for sure...I guess the word might be "organic"? Excellent detail work, I keep seeing more. Very well done.
  15. Agree 100%. If only Revell would see fit to back date the kit to original form like they did with the Blue Beetle/Bandidto. Outstanding restoration as always! You really nailed it.
  16. Thanks! I appreciate all your good words. It's encouraging to see that there is an amount of acceptance for this type of build here.
  17. Helps a lot. Thanks for the review. Going to run over to HL tomorrow and see if they have one on the shelf.
  18. Very cool and interesting concept and build. The story is brilliant too....if not for the disclaimer I probably would have taken it for historical fact! Well done Bernard!
  19. That front end reminds me of a '69 Mercury Montego....only smaller.
  20. Real nice build. Jim Hall's white birds from Texas were very advanced engineering marvels for their time and are about as cool as it gets today. Well done! I have an A, C, D, and E in the stash waiting to be built. This just might provide some motivation!
  21. Cool project with a great start. Ole Jr. definitely had some interesting "rules interpretations" on this car!
  22. From the same AMT box with "Ralling" Mallot?
