  1. The Lindberg '40 Ford makes good stock car fodder, too (not my build):
  2. Those look fantastic, nice work!
  3. That's great, the Manx looks unexpectedly cool as a lowrider!
  4. Very cool, that looks great!
  5. Forgot to add my thanks to the guys who make the show happen, there was a lot going on and everything ran beautifully
  6. One of the guys in my build group has worked the show for several years, and every year he tells me I need to go. Glad I finally got a chance to do it this year, there were some awesome kits on display!
  7. Nicely done!
  8. This was my first time at the NNL East, it was a great show and I'm looking forward to going again next year!
  9. I've run into a couple like that - Gunze's simplified Lotus Elan couldn't be built without modification because part of the front suspension and chassis tried to occupy the same space, and one of Fujimi's Celicas had to have the inner front fenders relieved before the spindles could be installed.
  10. I always liked that take on the "Stealth," regardless of how far off it was.
  11. Beautiful work, and great choice of color for it!
  12. Very nice! What did you use to tint the windows?
  13. Wow, I never knew they did a saucer that big. Does it have a detailed interior?
  14. You're in luck, Miles - I think the Metal Slug is the only one of those that's still relatively easy to get: http://hlj.com/product/WAVGM-023/Sci I picked up the Animal many many years ago as a bit of a goof, but was pleasantly surprised by the work Monogram put into it. I ended up getting two more so I could build the pickup and Firebird variants.
  15. Thanks, everyone! I'm not sure yet, José...it depends on what Jada's off-road Challenger looks like when they release it next month. My current plan is to build the cars driven by Dom, Letty, and Brian across the whole series before I move on to other characters, so if the Challenger looks good I may just buy that and get to work on one of their other cars. If it looks bad, I may end up building it from an AMT or Revell kit like I did with this Charger.
  16. The "Weirdest Kit" thread had me looking through my stash, and I found a few that weren't necessarily weird but were definitely not common: ...and a few where the boxes have been lost or destroyed:
  17. I don't know if I can narrow it to a single weirdest, but here are some candidates, all 1/24 or 1/25 scale...
  18. This is the first one of these I've seen built. I can see how those decals must be tough to apply cleanly, but from the look of the photos you managed to do a good job with them.
  19. Nice choice of colors, and the detail work on the grille & bumper looks great!
  20. Thanks, guys!
  21. I used to do this, but had one leak down the length of the tube, making a worse mess than anything I had before. Now I store them cap-down in an old soda can; they can leak as much as they want to without getting the bench messy, and when I need it I just use a piece of paper towel to remove and hold the cap until it goes back in the can.
  22. The Barnabas Vampire Van is another one that comes to mind...not completely unbuildable, but it's origins as a slapped-together custom based on a well-worn tooling are evident (and not helped by the years between its original release and current reissue). The chrome tree was almost completely unusable, even after stripping, which led me to do a minimalist take on it:
  23. I built one of these many years ago and remember it being difficult in places, but you've done a terrific job on this!
