Bronson Pinchot has been in the Beverly Hills Cop series of movies, but is probably best remembered as Balki on the sitcom Perfect Strangers.

I made this scraper from a coat hanger for making a recess to mount rear and side glass on this ‘36 Ford. It might work for the Chevy?

Nice work Jim!? It looks a lot closer to the sleekness of the 1:1.?

I got to see it in person at the last club meeting. It is indeed a fabulous looking model, and Rod is a very nice fellow.

Just grab any old body that you have no intention of building and do a bit of practice. You’ll be amazed at how easy it can be.

1941 Chevy Pickup

Looks like a pretty tight fit in there, but you seem to have it under control. -

Just watched “Skyscraper” with Dwayne Johnson and Neve Campbell on tv. This brings totally unrealistic stunts to a new level I think.? After leaping from an overhead crane over to the 150?th floor of the burning building, the Hero wraps duct tape around his hands sticky side out and does a spiderman crawl around the outside of the building.?? I thought for sure at the end, he would use the paraglide chute that he got from the villains to glide off the building with his daughter to safety, but no…he gets picked up by a police helicopter.? Sure am glad I didn’t pay to see it.

On that note…here is my favourite tool for pre-scribing the side trim, and a couple that I made for doing window and door trim. They make it pretty much impossible to go off track and have to do a repair .

I count my blessings that I didn’t kill my entire family.
NOBLNG replied to NYLIBUD's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Glad you and your family are safe. We have smoke detectors that are wired into our monitored alarm system. We also have CO detectors upstairs and down. They aren’t monitored though, but would hopefully alert us if there was a problem. You can’t be too safe when it comes to gas or electrical systems. -

Nice!? I like the color on it. I think one of your plug wires came off though.

Another thing I’ve been doing lately, is carefully, lightly scribing the outline of moldings before priming, just to provide a slight guide for the hobby knife later.

Thin Tape That Will Stay Put.
NOBLNG replied to StevenGuthmiller's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
How about BMF? May be a little thin…but there are different versions that may be thicker. Or possibly multiple layers? -
Foiling is just about my favourite task other than the initial gluing together of engine parts and other components that can be painted as a unit. Some trim items can be a bit tricky or even impossible to get a perfect job on.? One thing I’ve learned is not to be cheap with the foil. I’ve wasted more by trying to cut it close to exact size only to wind up peeling it off and starting over. YMMV. A sharp blade is necessary to get a nicely finished trim. I liked the Exacto Z-series blades, but can no longer get them locally unfortunately.?

Start another model is what I do when I get frustrated with the current project.
