  1. Typical me…getting ahead of myself.? I went and installed the rear suspension and then couldn’t get the exhaust system in place.? I pinned the splices and covered them with a couple of craft wire u-bolts. I’m not sure what these exhaust hangers are doing out in the middle of nowhere…just hangin’ out I guess?? So I made a couple that look like they might possibly hold something in place. I added some thickness to the rear frame horns and then drilled right through the bumper and installed some .050” styrene pins. It will be an easy install after I spray it and the other parts with the Revell chrome.
  2. Thanks Mathias.?
  3. Dudes may like to vacation at a ranch.
  4. The blue is REALLY nice!?
  5. Nicely done!?
  6. Super cool looking build! The paint job is beautiful!?
  7. Great looking old boat!? The paint is particularly nice.?
  8. That is a really sweet looking ‘57!?
  9. Wow, that is bright!? It should look awesome when the trim is done.?
  10. Well that really sucks! ? I wouldn’t think microsol would cause that…or heat from your hands. I have put stuff in my dehydrator cranked up to 160F (just as a test) and nothing warped.
  11. At least Testors had the foresight to make the bottles square…can you imagine if they were round!???
  12. That is really looking nice Bob! That chrome trim is a nice accent.?
  13. The wheels and ride height are now set in epoxy. I decided to use the rally wheels because: a) In the 1:1 world they would be a cheap and easy upgrade…the lug pattern is the same and you could get them for a song from anyone who put mags on their Chevy muscle car, and b) they are a cheap and easy upgrade for me now.? I raised the “spindles” .157” which dropped the front end a scale 4”, and I actually raised the rear a touch with some custom air bags.? I didn’t want the rims tucked up inside the fenders. I also got the engine mostly detailed and installed. I had originally painted the engine chevy orange, but through my research, discovered that the ‘56s were red…so I shot some red over the orange. I made up some power steering hoses for it, and installed some pins for heater hoses to connect to.
  14. Thanks. I don’t like the stock tires though, so I’m switching them.? Thanks. I do like D, but the rally wheels won out in my mind. They are the nicest look, but the tires that fit the rims won’t fit the wheel wells.? The newer Del Ray is corrected, but I don’t know if the California Wheels Nomad is??‍♂️ I thank you for the compliments sir.? Thank you Gareth. Thanks David. These rally wheels and tires fit nicely, and I can use the original wheel backs from the kit…so they win out. I doubt I will ever build the CW kit, so I will keep it sealed and trade it? Thanks again everyone!?
  15. Nice looking Jeep!? It’s too bad Revell didn’t see fit to make the Wrangler a full detail kit.?
  16. I like this for vinyl roofs
  17. The back half is a Mount’N Goat kit, the front clip is a Wrangler. I haven’t tried the eye liner brushes yet Carl. but I think they will make nice disposable detail brushes. Hi Gary.? This is a slightly involved kit bash that greatly improves the looks of the AMC Commando in my mind. More pics and a link to the build thread here:
  18. My ‘54 Willys and my replica.
  19. These arrived today from Amazon. Not as nice as the Tamiya ones, but a heck of a lot cheaper. The eyeliner brushes looked interesting, so I grabbed them as well. They could be good for fine detail painting.?‍♂️
  20. If you don’t like the front end…just change it.?
  21. This is the hood in the Mount’N Goat kit.
  22. You’re too negative…try being more positive.?
  23. I remember being able to separate it by heating it with a lighter. It could be burnished down onto a school desktop too, much like BMF.?
  24. Thanks for your votes Gentlemen. I have done a few more mockups, and have pretty much decided on the rally wheels. I like them and these #3 ones from the Revell ‘32 Deuce kit…but the tires that fit those rims and the “D” rims are a bit too wide for the wheel wells, and would require some extra carving.? Different styles of wheels unfortunately.?
  25. A few quick and dirty mockups.? I don’t have much for wheels and tires in the parts bin, so I may just go with the stock tires and hubcaps…with maybe a little attitude adjustment. I don’t mind the slotted rims (A) or the rally wheels (B) but I don’t really have decent tires for them.?
