Thanks for the tip Noel. I rarely need more light. That was just a quick and easy way to get a bit extra for a particular fiddly little task. I thought it might be helpful to folks who might not have an abundance of lighting.

Thanks for that link Chris.🙂I was unaware of them.

Today we are dog-sitting a neighbours 13 year old chocolate lab named Lucy. She doesn’t see well and is scared of hard flooring. She fretted when her owner left for a while. Then paced around panting, but her tail never stopped wagging. After an hour she settled down nicely. She knows my wife well as “the cookie lady”.

How do you decide what type of paint to use?
NOBLNG replied to Bill Anderson's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I use lacquer thinner to clean the airbrush for all paints. It doesn’t work well for Vallejo paints though so I use windshield washer fluid for them. -
Outstanding work on the detailing Adam! It looks fabulous!👍😎

Henway is a play on words that sent me down the rabbit hole of googling largest chickens which turned up the fact that Jersey Giants are the largest chickens on average, but the largest in the world is a Brahma rooster named Merakli who weighs almost 17 pounds and stands 2.8 feet tall.

Outstanding work Matt!👍 It is a thing of beauty!😎 -
The Mobius kit I traded for the race version at the club meeting today. The other two…what can I say…I’m a sucker for glue bombs.🤪 The Cougar ll is missing one wheel and tire, but I also grabbed some rims at the meet that should work. I don’t think the decals belong to it?? The Datsun is missing the driveshaft and the driver’s side mirror. Both I can easily fabricate should I ever get around to it.🥴

I am scribing some lines on the seats to separate the headrests and the seat back from the bottoms. I don’t want to put European plates on it, so I’ve filled the plate mounting holes with stretched kit sprue and will smooth the panel soon. I don’t want to have a front plate at all (even though it is required here in Mb.) so I filled the space for the plate with some 0.010” Evergreen sheet. I’m not thrilled with that look so I may use a homemade grill? I went to a nearby fabric store and they were nice enough to clip me off a couple of sample pieces of “tulle” fabric used for making veils and tutus. I put some tape on the kit grill, trimmed it and then made a new blank from 0.030” styrene, glued the tulle fabric to it with CA and trimmed it. After a coat of paint it looks not too bad?🤔 It’s a little blotchy due to uneven glue application. More paint may help or I might make another…I have enough “sample” material for a few more attempts.🙂

Thank you for your interest Fella’s!😎 This is going to be a mainly OOB build with just a little detailing.

I made a rudimentary cover for the transaxle. It doesn’t look quite like the kite piece (which I don’t think is correct) but I don’t think it’s really seen on the finished model anyways.

Song about a hot rod lincoln was running through my head last night.

Glad to see you back at the bench Buddy. Looking forward to seeing how this turns out.🙂

That is the years (30-32) that I am most interested in, but good to know about any earlier Chevy kits. There seems to be an abundance of Fords but slim pickings for other makes.😕 I did build the ‘39 shortly after I discovered this forum.🙂

Beautifully done Kari! I really like the colour combo!👍😎 -
I picked this one up cheap at a flea market. It is complete except for a missing transmission rear cover. I assume that maybe a youngster may have attempted to build it and gave up? The engine and drivetrain was pretty much assembled (unpainted thankfully) with I think the old Testors tube glue.😬 Some parts were not properly located and the poseable steering was glued solid. Last night I managed to disassemble it mostly, and this morning I drilled out and replaced all the pins in the steering components, and re-assembled the engine.

Are there any other kits besides these two? I’ve been musing about building a ‘32 Deuce hot rod, but with a Chevy instead of Ford. Thanks, Greg

It’s best to use a vegetable based glue.
