How many models are you working on at one time?
NOBLNG replied to rossfox's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
2,3,4…it depends. I have a whole bunch started, but usually only 2 or 3 active builds going on at once. -
Hi Jim! Glad to see you back…I was getting worried about you.😜 That is looking really nice! I’ve never seen a model that the Tamiya maroon doesn’t look good on. I’ve made a few simple sanding sticks that might work for you. The top left one I made to reach in through the windows to sand ejection marks off the headliners.

If you’re not in a hurry to sell it….I’d call it a well maintained collectible classic. That may scare off low-ballers and tire kickers.

Great ambition here. It will be interesting to see how it goes.👍😎

Looking very nice Simo!😎

Black with some very fine purple webbing could work if you want to stick with the spider motif?

And I managed to get the new box rails and tailgate cap attached with CA. To hide the splices I filed a small groove and “welded” in some 0.060” half round with Tamiya extra thin cement.- 141 replies

Since there will be no access from above, I needed to delete the spare tire well. Actually , I am deleting the spare tire entirely. This provides an opportunity to install a larger fuel tank. I narrowed the one from the Polar Lights GTO to fit.- 141 replies

Color looks great on it!👍

No grill shell so…likely not. It looks great so far though.👍

I don’t believe there is one which is surprising considering how popular they are. Here is a thread with a bit of info on a similar subject. Unfortunately the OP’s pics have all disappeared. https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/162108-jeep-wrangler-rubicon-4-door-4-x-4/ This Meng kit would likely be the best starting point to make a 4 door out of? scalemates has the instructions for the Meng kit. https://www.scalemates.com/products/img/3/5/8/1101358-74-instructions.pdf

Are you seriously going to believe the weather channel?

Times that I’ve spent on my hands and knees looking for parts that the carpet monster ate might add up to months.

You would be better off with the yellow box version. It has the correct wheels and tires. The green version has 6 lug rims which are incorrect for TJs. The snap version body is pretty much identical in dimensions and may well have com from the same master? You could quite easily modify the snapper body to use or just cut out the doors to use. My stalled build thread: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/167432-jeep-tj/#comment-2551747 FYI…the green bodied snap kit pictured below has the same wheels and tires as the green box art kit above but the rims ARE 5 lug.🙂

The engine looks good Bil…so does the body. It could be just the photo, but in the second one it looks like the frame has a twist in it?

Wow! That was quick!😃 -
That is a beautiful paint job Rooster! Excellent work on fuel and brake lines….and the headers too.👍😎

If you have another junk windshield from the parts box or a kit you will never build….put some glue on it and then practice polishing it back to clear. Or you could post in the wanted section. Maybe someone has a spare they could send you.

‘55 El Camino
NOBLNG replied to NOBLNG's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Like my tag line? says…I haven’t finished creating problems yet.😳 I noticed that the bed rails curved upwards at the rear. I set it on a piece of plate glass and took some measurements. They aren’t off by much side to side but front to back was noticeable. So I fastened it down to the glass and took it out to my drill press and milled the bed rails and tailgate level. Now I have to remake the rails from 0.040” sheet along with a tailgate cap.- 141 replies

I’ve added some drip rails to the roof and a piece of molding around the base of the cab. Also smoothed the tailgate.- 141 replies
