I got the steering gear connected and a side mirror installed, so this one is pretty much done. I just need to install the door handles, a license plate and a couple of paint touch ups.

MicroMark has one that I think is similar to mine on the left. The spring broke on it so I bought the cheap one on the right from Amazon. I didnβt like the chuck on it so I wound up swapping the spring over to my old one.

How to make door arm rests

Hereβs a quick and dirty scratch build using some .080β half round and some .030β strip. Might be good enough for a street rod? Flattening the topside could be an improvement. -
Iβve had a hard time getting my micro drill to grip a #80 drill bit, and Iβve had to use a pair of pliers to loosen the collet at times. So I gave it a good cleaning by dipping it in lacquer thinner. I was amazed how much black junk came off. I used some sandpaper to clean and de-burr the slots. After another dip in thinner, I very lightly oiled the threads with some clipper oil. I put a bit of oil on the outside of the jaws too where the outer collet? contacts them. Use a very small amount of oil, as you donβt want it creeping to the inner drill bit gripping area. It operates a lot smoother now.π

From the knowledge that Iβve gleaned from this site I know that butt joints are far sturdier if they are pinned.

Beautiful! Makes me want to crack open another kit!π₯΄ -
If 1/25 is close enough, Revellβs β32 Ford 5 Window Coupe 2βn1 kit is a nice easy build with a lot of options. The Revell β49 Merc is also nice and practically falls together.

I canβt see a company mass producing 3d printed kits. Itβs just too time consuming. More likely as Steve says, a company will produce a huge catalog of licensed files that end users can rent or purchase to print on their own machines. Also there will be printing companies (there likely already are) who will print any file for a price for those who do not want to buy and operate their own printer. Future innovations may change the possibilities.

Nice start on it Richard. Definitely not an easy chop!π

Looking mighty fine! Excellent detailing you are doing.ππ
