Picked up this little gem at a local flea market for a mere five bucks. This thing does real justice to the term “gluebomb”!😬 I think the builder stood back a foot or so and gave that ol’ Testors tube a good squeeze!😳 I hope to start a build thread shortly.🙄

They likely only partially fill the jars in order to leave room for thinner if you want to add it. That said, I agree it is deceptive and I would rather get a full jar. As far as the primer goes, I buy the little square jars and add lacquer thinner for airbrushing. I keep some pre-mixed in an airbrush jar and just add a bit more LT or primer as needed.

Now that’s thinking outside the box!

If you bought it new that should be covered under warranty no? There is a good chance that the casting had a flaw in it that caused the breakage. A fist sized rock should not cause catastrophic damage.

Good to hear the colors work nicely. I haven’t tried them and didn’t know if the clears only came with one nozzle or if mine was missing? I e-mailed Vallejo saying how disappointed I was with their product. They replied asking for photos of the label so they could determine the batch number for their chemistry department. I sent them along with a complaint about the lack of a low flow nozzle. I’ll post any further response I get here.

Nice looking Galaxie Nathan.👍 It looks like you tried applying the decals as one piece? Next time try cutting them into sections at the door jambs. You can lay a full length strip of tape down as a guide to keep the chunks aligned. After all, they would be applied in sections (or cut at the seams) on a 1:1.

You can buy a separate 1/2 or 1 gallon tank and plumb it inline.

Even the short screw and stubby screwdriver was an improvement over the allen key. One thing to watch out for is if you have a spray pot for cleaning, that the thumbscrew doesn’t get in the way. Not a problem with my home-made one.🙂

And don’t forget about the other half of the equation….you need an adequate, stable supply of clean dry air. Sometimes the airbrush gets blamed when the air supply is causing the issue.

Yes it is and single action also. You set the airflow via a separate regulator, and paint flow by how far you unscrew the nozzle. Dirt simple and easy to clean.🙂 It also has a 1/4oz. Cup that I use most of the time.

You might get lucky with a cheap one, or you might get a dog that turns you off airbrushing for life. I would suggest getting a simple (not necessarily cheap); as in single action-external mix one for starters. Why spend the money twice…assuming you just want to paint models and not do artwork etc. Edit: Just for clarity, my definition of cheap is an off-brand unit with no after market parts or support. I bought an Iwata Eclipse for my first airbrush. It’s a beautiful piece of equipment. Then I bought a Paasche H and have not touched the Iwata since. While not the cheapest airbrush, it is not expensive either. I would recommend it as a first (and quite likely only) airbrush. It has a cup for small chores and bottles for larger jobs and/or mixing colors. Badger has a similar unit that users rave about, but I have no experience with it. JMO.🙂

Thank you Peter. if you scroll up you will see you already posted this same response. I tried the needles and wasn’t impressed. My latest version is something new that I find works very well. You can pick up however much CA you want with it. Just another option for anyone who wants to give it a try. Edit: I think I will drill two holes in a large piece of sprue or Evergreen and mount two separate wires. That’ll free up the hobby knife handle for other uses.
