  1. Automobile repair mechanics get a bad rap due to the greed and/or incompetence of relatively small number.
  2. Now the weather channel tells us to expect +4C on tuesday….that’s 39.2F for those of you who are metrically challenged.😎
  3. Beautiful work Steve. That is indeed a nice engine…I put one in my T-Bird. I like the colored accents to tie things together too.👍😎
  4. No Kurt, the black stuff is sprue glue made with the spue from the same kit. When completely dry (which takes a long time even in the dehydrator) it should have the same consistency as the rest of the body…not that it matters since I have used Evergreen also. Edit: You should get back on that Mercedes Kurt, it is coming along nicely!😎
  5. Thanks! No I was not aware of that car but was wondering what Jim meant in his first response. I did however run across your old build today. I was thinking that the Corvette coves might clash with the rear fender bulges….but it looks good on yours.
  6. Not his fault…the cat put him up to it….they are such instigators.🙄
  7. This is the first time I’ve tried it and I just had one of the A pillars break loose…so I recommend experimenting with it on a junk body. Edit: here’s a link to Doug Whyte’s video where I got the idea. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uupXs7M1R6s
  8. Genie lift is something we used a lot in the HVAC trade.
  9. Thanks! Old school cheapo.
  10. I made a windshield blank from a pop can, taped it in place and then added some Milliput to blend the A pillars in. I corrected the hood corners and re-engineered the door/A-pillar/ hood interface. I had to trim about 1/8” off the rear edge of the roof to get a smooth glass angle. I’ve made glass patterns from card stock so I should be able to make new glass from clear flat sheet. Also removed all the chrome trim…not sure yet if I will replace it with smaller half round?
  11. I prefer a “welded” seam wherever possible. JMO.
  12. Day is starting out a tad chilly,🥶
  13. I don’t believe the “vote” was against it. The more I refine it the better it looks in my eye. The slanted B pillar does give it a slightly Chevy or Plymouth vibe?…not a bad thing I think, but die-hard Ford fans may get their panties in a knot?😳 I figured it deserves its own thread in case I continue to pursue it.
  14. Way to persevere Micah! It sure seems to be fighting you…particularly frustrating when it’s supposed to be a slump buster build..🥴 It’s looking good now!👍
  15. Now that I look closer, I guess the PVC is only an exhaust baffle of sorts for when he releases the pressure. The supply must be piped in at the back or somewhere.
  16. Kleenex is just a disposable handerchief.
  17. I have used about 60 psi for casting, but using relatively fresh resin. Those plastic fittings on his pressure pots are pretty scary looking! If they fail they can explode.
  18. You could try a shoe repair place for the eyelet, or maybe a sewing/fabric supplier?
  19. Don’t know if they are unpopular…but moonroofs. I sure liked the one I had in my ‘78 LeBaron back when I was a pack a day smoker.
  20. Well they gave the blind deaf sculptor a photo of a corvette and told him what they wanted.🥴
  21. Fantastic looking start on that camper Tom!👍😎
  22. Thanks Bil. Those were sitting on the bench so I grabbed them for a quick mockup. I don’t dislike them but I think big and littles might look better? Thanks Kevin. I WON that fight Len!!!😜 Thanks Steve. I wasn’t even planning to build this one…just decided to experiment with a roof stretch for giggles. But now I’m beginning to think it has potential?
  23. You know…if people worked a little harder they might forget about their little aches and pains.
  24. Nice work Alfred! Your bench looks kinda like mine. You guys are going to talk me into getting a 3D printer yet.😳
