I have used this particular brand (Jonard Tools made in USA) of wire on 1/25 models also and it still looks alright. As Pete said, the guage refers to the actual wire size. The outer diameter of the insulation can vary greatly. I also have some 30 gauge (China-something) that measures 0.025โ o.d. and just looks a little too big for plug wires in my eye. And like you said, any 32 guage wire would likely look fine regardless of the insulation thickness. Here are the 0.020โ wires on a 1/25 Bronco. Maybe a bit big but not glaringly so.๐คทโโ๏ธ

This is a 1/24 scale GTO. The plug wires are 30ga wire wrapping wire that measures 0.020โ or 0.48โ (1/2โapprox.) in full scale. The heater hose is some unknown wire that measures 0.040โ or 0.96โ (1โapprox.) in full scale. The plug wires are technically a tad big and the heater hose is probably very close for the common 5/8โ or 3/4โ hoses. I donโt think that either one looks obviously out of scale to the naked eye. A hair bigger or smaller is not going to matter unless you are entering serious contests or asking for advice on a forum.๐

I6 from the AMT โ51 Chevy with the Fisher 12 port head. Custom built exhaust and oil filter added.

Very nice! I like those wheelsโฆwhat are they from?

Totally looks like it could have been a factory produced unit.๐ Excellent blending!๐

Beautiful!๐

Great subject Steve! I really like the styling on these cars.๐

You said earlier that youโre using a rechargeable compressor. Is it built into the airbrush or a separate unit? Either way, you would need to invest in a decent quality airbrush and compressor in order to get satisfactory results. You can get good paint jobs with craft paints, but they are a bit trickier to use than โstinkyโ paints. Edit: And there is nothing wrong with spray cans. Especially Tamiya or Mr. Hobby.

I still may do that.๐ณ Depending on how well my hinges work out. I am still waiting for a shipment of microscopic drill bits to arrive later today.

Thanks for all the compliments Fellas! It was a challenge with all the modifications, but probably not as frustrating as trying to get all those door and hood hinges working on a stock build.๐คฏ I actually got two of these kits and the other one had a decal sheet in it.๐ So I added the ford emblem on the grill shell and updated the photos. Hereโs my original inspiration photo.

Cool!๐ Nice work ManuelโฆI never would have guessed that there is a โ57 T-Bird under there.๐

Occasionally I like to work on model cars.

Donโt know if this helps, but the Fujimi kit Iโm working on has this method in the instructions.

Iโm calling this one done.๐ I could do a lot more on it, but Iโm not really into the plumbing and secondary wiring stuff. Itโs just too fiddley and frustrating for me.๐ฅด Anywaysโฆthanks for following along folks! I appreciate your support, encouragement and opinions.๐๐ More pics under glass here: https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/199849-1931-model-a/

The engine is from the AMT โ51 BelAir kit with the Fisher 12 port head option. I had a lot of fun building itโฆbuild thread here: https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/196266-revell-โ31-model-a-sedan/

Do you have a brand name? How well does it sand? Thanks, Greg.

I had to add some 0.020โ Evergreen to the trunk lid to close the gap. And I had to fix the lip above the tail light that I broke while carving a ledge for the trunk lid to sit on. I scribed the door lines deeper. And I ground out the molded in door handles and replaced them with some 0.020โ craft wire, and drilled a divot for a door lock.

Primer before paint when building models is an absolutely necessary step I believe that canโt be skipped.

Itโs coming along beautifully Bill.๐ I love that blue on it!๐

Nice work blending in that Chevy hood.๐๐
