  1. That’s called growth and it can be lots of fun in this hobby. And this one looks like fun to watch too.?
  2. It is a die cast that I have modified with Milliput, Tamiya basic putty and styrene pieces glued on. The Milliput I have sanded with #3000 and it is very smooth. I am wondering if a barrier of some sort is necessary to protect it from the silicone or the mould release?
  3. Is primer a smooth enough finish over milliput and Tamiya putty on a resin casting master? Or is some sort of paint or sealer required? Thanks, Greg.
  4. Tamiya makes an XF-85 rubber black paint.
  5. Me too! I’m all for it in this case. And thanks for all those pics Guys.? We can’t un-see that stuff you know.?
  6. Wow, very nice! I don’t normally check out the racing sections, but I will more often now...the scratch building talents displayed here are amazing!
  7. Very nice. Makes me want to dig out my merc kit....not that I would be doing a fantastic job on it like this one.
  8. I like it too! Red looks really great on these cars.
  9. It coming along very nicely!
  10. The hood on my ‘70 F-100 custom cab 4x4 does not seem to be too big or warped. The cowl area is sunken a bit in this photo, but will be supported when the firewall is in place.
  11. Nicely done!
  12. This is looking really nice! Love the pinstripes, subtle yet complimentary.
  13. I guess you need somewhere to mount the fire extinguisher eh? ?
  14. I bought these today just for the three different sized round files. The flat file and the handle are a bonus. For under 8 bucks, I can’t go wrong.
  15. Very well done...and you found a use for all those singles and sets of 3 tires.?
  16. Welcome Matas. Any flat surface will work. The number one thing for me is LOTS of light! Number two is shelves and drawers to keep paints and supplies in. This is a desk from Ikea that I have modified slightly. I also use magnetic hooks on the refrigerator beside me for hanging items on.
  17. After a quick search...they may be hot so a primer is definitely needed. The main thing is that they are intended for the interior of a clear polycarbonate or lexan body so they will appear to be a flat finish. Nothing a clear coat couldn’t remedy.
  18. I don’t think so. They may look similar(?) but the AMC 232 was all new in 1964 and the 258 (1971) that was in jeeps was basically a stroked 232. The 4.0 litre (1987) in later Jeeps was an evolution of the 258. early Rambler Later AMC 232 Are there any kits that would have the 4.0 litre?
  19. I must say I like scratch building parts and fabbing things that don’t exist in any kits. Thanks for all your appreciation Guys!
  20. I have one of those kits and the styrene is not what I would call soft. It is not as hard as some other kits I have either. I did have an AMT Camaro that had very soft plastic. It reminded me of the plastic (polypropylene?) used for water bottle caps.
  21. This is a nice kit and it looks like a nice plan you have for it. I did have to add some to the back edge of the hood on mine to get the nose to sit far enough forward.
