  1. Still some rough spots, and more work to do but this will soon be cleaned up Oh, one more thing...there is a wired and plumbed 427 Chevy "porcupine" engine in there!
  2. I have ordered some Zero Paints from Hobby World, not so sure if it is a "true" lacquer or a derivative of a lacquer (enamel). I asked someone about it in another forum and they said "it's kinda both"? I know from what I have gathered so far it basically comes dull coat and you are expected to clear coat it fairly quickly after your final coat. I want to do this model as correctly as possible that is why I am going with this paint sight unseen so to speak. Number One, I really don't like clear coating, that and the fact I have very little experience with clear coat. Number Two, what do you use to primer this type paint? I understand because of Lacquers "hot" lay down properties you can ruin a paint job REAL fast if not adequately prepped. Given the price of the initial kit PLUS the cost and availability (0) of the trans kit "mess up" is not an option. So, in conclusion can anybody give me any guidance here, THANK YOU all so much for reading this!
  3. I used testors thinner, pretty thin mix i like it like skim milk density. Yes I did air brush it thanks, for the tips guys. Like I said its been awhile and I didn't want to rush this. I am familiar with the novus system and the LMG polishing cloth system, my preferred method.I guess I am too old school never tried lacquer or acrylics for that matter I have always been happy with the enamel results. I don't clear coat either, basically because other than that 37 above I stick with sports cars, imsa, endurance, trans am that sort of model. I dry polished that 37. LMG.
  4. 2 Days ago I laid down 4 coats of "off white" (model master classic, white 8 drops of testors 1033 brown) on a Fisher Chaparral 2F. It needs polished what is the safest amount of gas out time before I could begin the next phase. No rush its been 20 years since I doing this on a regular basis now I'm afraid becoming a "senior citizen" may have some pitfalls with it, that and not having really built anything in 20 years! Thanks! my last build....
  5. WELL DONE! so clean, neat and tidy
  6. very pretty great job

  11. Very Pretty! You've spent some time on this baby, it all looks "right"
  12. Good One Dann, very clean and precise.
  13. Well, let me tell ya the more I look at this the more amazed I am. I'm a little familiar with IMC (Chaparral 2E) kits. WAYYYY before their time and refinement. This model is just spectacular, the little things really pop... the whole light set up, amazing. the nice little flair in the front fender, I could go on and on. just incredible! OOPS I was under the impression this was the IMC model, still and all a very beautiful kit. I have been out of the loop a few years still trying to get back into the groove here. I've been making a lot of these mistakes lately better to lay low, everytime I say something... well... still a very beautiful model like I said.
  14. Beautiful work, great finish and color wow.
  15. Proceeding very nicely on this one
  16. very nice so far
  17. I included some photos of mine. I wished I could help in the instructions department I am pretty positive I didn't save the instructions. I will scour around and check though, just to be on the safe side.
  18. This is a great project Ismael what are you photographing it with. If you don't mind me asking.
  19. great job, love the stance! looks to be burning a bit rich, i love how you nailed this.
  20. Thanks you guys, first build in 20 years. I chose NOT to polish it out for 2 reasons A: the paint turned out pretty good( after all it's a racing car not a Delahaye) & B: too many little potential polishing problems on this, I'm doing a good old Treatment polish & wax and calling it a day. I will get better photos I did some things in the tail end and just a few other things, interior, etc.. Oh I also scratch built the chassis, not suspension, just straight axles, not sure if I am quite ready for that stuff yet after the layoff. I used the chassis on the IMC 2E and the photos in Falconers book for reference. I also used a spare Monogram 2D "tub", the Arii supplied one was just not quite right..
  21. https://www.modelbuilderswh.com Pg. 10 they are sold out now, but, try the manufacturers I don't like taking bidness away from somebody but, when you gotta have it you gotta have it.
  22. NIIICE! that is some very smooth black paint, and we all know nothing looks better on a racing car than a nice black paint job and this is a nice un! Good Stuff.
  23. Better photos along with the finished product. Too early this morning to be messing around taking photos (6:30)
