I've never heard of this before but I do know if you put a sbc in these cars it's in the same location as the camaro engine. I know the driveshaft from the firebird is the same length as the camaro and also considering the bbc is bigger than the poncho engine I'd say the answer is no.
I've owned a few over the years. I also bought a new lx in 1989, it was medium scarlet red 5 speed car. I had a 3.73 gear, ported heads and a 150 shot on it by the time it had 30k miles on it.
This has happened to me numerous times. The last package came from Texas to Chattanooga Tenn. which is about 10 miles from me it then traveled to Atlanta GA. which is about 150 miles away only to come back to Chattanooga lol.
Maybe they should toss the computer/gps technology and do it like they did 30 years ago.
10 to 15k for a decent car. I bought my 92 calypso green lx as a roller and got a good price for it but I'm 15k into it now and I've done all the work myself.
That 2.5 fully dressed with turbos is around 400 lbs. A fully dressed 6.0 LS is around 460 lbs. So not much weight difference. Take the ls engine and do a cam swap add some 1.6 or 1.7 rockers with some 1 3/4 headers and the built 2.5 is no match.
