  1. Nice job. Where did you get the resin wheels?
  2. I didn't have a clue on that one.
  3. Thanks. A bit more done, lengthened the frame about 5/8" (still needs clean up, don't judge). I'll probably bob the rear of the frame so it doesn't overhang so much, Mock up.
  4. Sort of... the 400-425-455 did have a bigger block with a taller deck height and bigger mains than the 330-350, although the basic architecture was the same.
  5. They are the AMT kits. No chrome in the Heller issues, IIRC.
  6. Some progress - I've started to reassemble the body, and made a new ram from K&S tubing.
  7. It's out over here now as well. The box art is really hard to look at... my brain can't process those perspective conflicts.
  8. Found it. Interesting car, way ahead of its time.
  9. I got it, but I didn't receive a reply to my PM?
  10. That looks great. I agree about modfiying the AWB body; the '90s Comet and Fairlane bodies aren't much cop.
  11. Motorcraft didn't exist at that time, so I would go with Autolite, black with red caps. No idea on the shocks, sorry. A quick search of restored cars showed red and black.
  12. It just means the parts were moulded in Denmark, not uncommon for Revell GmbH kits from that period. As I stated above, Imex transferred operations to Florida in 1992, so it must post-date that move.
  13. I'd be more interested in a corrected body than an interior. The new front end doesn't look as bad as the old one, but there's still that heaviness at the rear and the AMX look about the quarters.
  14. I knew it straight away, so I didn't register the watermark either. How strange.
  15. The Lola was an IMC kit, like the '48 Ford and VW also reissued by Union. I've read that it's a bit underscale, but I haven't checked for myself.
  16. I don't think we'll be seeing a Melkus as a possible entry for a while. I thought I'd exhausted the gullwing cars, but TomZ kindly gave me a nudge to retrace my steps. I'd missed the Thurner because the Wikipedia page didn't link to another page or image.
  17. Wow, you don't hang around! I'm still doing basic assembly on mine.
  18. Got there in the end, thanks to the hints.
  19. Thanks. I'm not doing anything to the cowl vent, I'm just correcting the hood/cab mating edges on the driver's side. It should be a straight edge, as it apparently was in the original issue of this kit. Later issues have the same cab as the DM800, with a step to fit the steel hood. To be accurate, it needs a piece cutting off the cab to create a straight edge, and a corresponding filler piece added to the hood. Even with the steel hood, there should still be a straight panel line there.
  20. Outstanding. Brings back memories of my first visits to the US. Will those tyres be available at some point, or are you reserving them for your own builds?
  21. Surgery on the cab. I've begun to fill the gap. Dump body parts out of the stripper. It looks worse now the paint's off it, but most of the glue damage should be hidden when it's reassembled. If it ends up looking a bit knocked about, probably no bad thing anyway for a dump truck. I'm going to try making a ram from K&S tubing and I might replace the "wood" pieces with basswood.
  22. I thought the gullwing doors would simplify searching, but I've got nowhere with this one.
  23. Frame is mostly done. I added the front suspension today, but forgot to take a photo. I've also assembled the rear bogie and modified it to a scale 54" axle spread. I did take a photo of that, but the sunlight washed it out. This is the next job - cut the cab straight down and add a filler piece to the hood.
  24. I'm discovering that, but I've tackled the AMT Freightliner, so compared with that, this is falling together. Thanks, that's the plan. I'm considering some bigger wheels & tyres, but I'm not really into the AITM ones and I'm not sure what else is available.
