  1. Here is a project that was well underway before the big move. Fisher resin Matra MS 670 driven to victory at the 1972 Lemans by Henri Pescarolo and Graham Hill. This win made Graham Hill the only driver to ever win the Indy 500, Lemans, Monaco and become World Champion. Quite a feat. Car is painted Tamiya TS44 blue, TS26 white and Testors 1124 green with a little yellow added. Some extra details included steering wheels, seatbelts, aluminium tube exhaust , gear shift, mirror strut. Avery nice kit to work with. See captions for extra information. Thanks and comments always welcome. Nice bright sunlight takes a good picture. Background is my Watkins Glen bleachers. Car sits low and mean Rear veiw shows just enough engine and suspension But I still added some details. Decals in this kit wer an absolute joy even though they were almost 30yrs old. White stripe is vinyl tape. If you were driving at Lemans in 1972 this is not what you wanted to see in your rear view mirror. They were fast and loud and came in 1-2. I have heard a Matra V-12 at full song (in an F-1 car) It would hurt your ears at 50 yards. Best shot of the interior I could get. Not much detail but still worthy of a picture.
  2. Pierre...nothing quite like a couple of quick builds to keep your enthusiasm up for finishing projects. Both of those turned out very well. Now that you are stoked we can't wait to see what you finish next.
  3. Thomas...congrats on your first resin/multimedia build. And she's a real beauty. I probably had about 20 resin kits before I finally tackled one. They were quite daunting considering the fact that I was a long time plastic builder. They require a different skill set and mind set. But you have risen to that challenge. Look forward to your next one.
  4. Nice Job Jim...some good attention to detail. And a nice informative post....thanks.
  5. Paul...great advice to anyone moving a collection. I did just that. 18 trips with my Subaru Outback (36mi each) Car held a lot of stuff but then I had a lot to move. There were some casaulties along the way but they are all fixed now and I am back in production.
  6. Tom...I can certainly identify with this post. I moved back in December to a newer house. 60yrs worth of accumulation, 11 display cabinets, 3 different workbenches and thousands of delicate models. It was not without its pain. Unlike you my house had been completely renovated but I still had to fit all my stuff into a new location. It took a month and a half just for the model room but I am all done and back to modeling. Luv your work area. Well lit, organized and comfortable looking. You will be back creating masterpieces now.
  7. Emre...congratulations on turning what was basically a toy of a kit into a very decent model. All your work paid off.
  8. Louis...I have built more than a few 1/16 kits from various manufacturers...mostly early Japanese. I can agree with you whole heartedly that they can be a real challenge to anyones modeling skills. But you have risen to that and created a beautiful model. I like it. Its a fact.....the more creative swear words you use .....the better the model turns out. Keep up the good work.
  9. Another really nice 1/20 model from your collection Aymer. Paint and detailing are excellent.
  10. Seth...I am amazed that you taped over the decals in the first place. I know it can be done if there is enough clear on them and they have cured for at least a week. But I have never had a whole lot of luck masking over decals with ANY tape except...one. Parafilm. Its a stretchy parafin based film that will adhere to glossy surfaces with the heat of your hands. It doesn't have a lot of adhesion and has to be pressed down in any areas you really want it to stick. Takes some practice to use it but it will do a lot of delicate, intricate masking especially over compound surfaces. Its compatible with most hobby finishes if you use light coats with the airbrush. Hot paints and heavy coats will melt it into a gooey mess. Its primary use is to cover petri dishes in medical labs as it forms an airtight seal on glass. Available in small and large quantities on Ebay. My daughter worked in a lab and gave me a roll 25yrs ago....I'm still using it. It goes a long way. LMK if you need more info.
  11. Would tend to agree with the above comment. Otherwise it IS a nice model. Helpful hint: crop your photos (if you can) that way we get to see more of your work.
  12. V-E-R-Y cool collection Phil. And nice job on all the on all the models. Got to meet Dan (for about 30seconds) at one of my model shows. Despite the fact he had about 10 people trying to pull him in all directions he was very gracious and liked my display. I can see why you would be a fan.
  13. Juistin...well worth the wait..followed your WIP. This turned out great. A worthy addition to any Ferrari collection.
  14. Beautiful build Doug , some great decaling there, especially over those hood vents.
  15. Thanks Greg....the video answered most of my questions. Now to play around with them.
  16. Has anyone here tried these yet. They are LP81 Yellow, LP82 Red, LP83 Blue. These are called mixing color and I would appreciate some input on their use and results obtained. Thanks in advance.
  17. Indeed...one of the better looking F-1 cars. And you did a splendid job on it.
  18. This is a wonderful kit with a great interiot and you did it justice.
  19. Superb Job Mark. 1/43 is small but you have definetly mastered it.
  20. Decal work can be an artform all to itself and you, sir , have mastered it. Outstanding build.
  21. Now that is what I call purple. That finish is quite dazzeling. I have used those color shift finishes and they are difficult to get right, but you have nailed this one Rex. Sometimes the quick builds turn out the best.
  22. Justin...this is coming together very well. The paint and interior are just spot on. Can't wait to see it finished.
  23. I 'm a big F-1 and Ferrari fan so, of course I luv it. That paint really shines, what did you use for clear?
  24. Gorgeous Bugatti....the weathering, the base, the details...everything is spot on. Works of art don't just happen overnight.
  25. Justin...that's a really cool kit and you have gotten off to a great start. I really enjoyed all the Fujimi Ferrari kits. Now...whatcha gonna do for a color on the body?
