  1. with a little more than a month left in the decade I believe its time we start to discuss what should be named kit of the decade. what kit revolutionized the hobby more than any other kit brought out this decade.....
  2. The muilti-piece body scares me but it looks pretty good.
  3. Gleason drove a Pontiac in all three, a 77 LeMans in the first one, an 80 Bonneville in the second. and the third he drove an 82 Bonneville. (The other characters all played by Gleason at the end of the second movie drove Pontiacs, an 80 LeMans and a 79 Grand LeMans) and the Plymouth with the shaker hood is a 75 Fury.. to build this car in scale you would need a rare MPC 75 Road Runner for the front end.
  4. I got MPC's reissue Roscos Patrol car, and a Jimmy Flinstone 1967 Dodge A-100 van.....
  5. great news on the Myers Manx and COT kits, hopefully AMT does the 2010 cars and not the 2009 cars. (There incorrectly listed as Monte Carlo's, they should be Impala's). Gordons is similar but Dale Jr's is completely different.
  6. yep. but I heard it will have new tool parts in it. like the correct chassis
  7. I agree...good riddence. There big, overpriced, gas hogs, and they take up space at used car lots. let them die. They where a good idea in hindsight but they died when gas hit $4.00 a gallon.....and havent recovered with gas cheaper now.
  8. ALLLRIGHT-ALRIGHT-ALRIGHT.......(Trying my best Matthew McConaughey impersonation)
  9. Those test shots looks great. it would be a HUGE disapointment if the kit did'nt have an uptop. hopefully Revell just did'nt have one on the buildups when they displayed them
  10. I would wait for the 30 car set. It would be alot cheaper then buying them one at a time. plus Hot Wheels will throw a Special Edition car in the set like they did with the Wal-Mart exclusive "classics" set and the Toys R Us exclusive "Larry's Garage" sets,
  11. Its a little Blander than I expected but I like it. hopefully Tamiya or Aoshima steps up and makes a kit of it.
  12. Hobby Express. about 14-15 miles north of downtown off Interstate 79. not the biggest selection of paints but they have a huge selection of current and out of production kits. very easy to find. on Rt. 228 in Cranberry. just look for the Target. its in the same shopping center. A.B. Charles in the one I recommend. huge selection of paints and kits. free parking (If you knew where they used to be you'd appreciate that). Its easy to find but its not in a building you'd expect. it used to be a Day Care. it looks like a barn. There are a few smaller hobby shops here and there, and a couple HobbyTown USA's but I recommend those two.
  13. does anyone know if there is a Tamiya TS color that is close to this color. I'm leaning toward Brilliant Blue but I'm not sure and the instructions don't list this color.
  14. Polar Lights cancelling the 05 Mustang CV kits was a huge disapointment. They cancelled them like a day after they announced them too.
  15. A great place to info about Movie cars is IMCDB.ORG, taking a quick peak at the websites page for that movie there where alot of Porsche's in the movie.
  16. personally I don't think the 49 Olds or the 51 Stude kits would have been good sellers at all. sure the hobbiest would have bought them up in the beginning. but the mass market appeal to the weekend modeler is not all that great. better bets would be a new tool of something a little more safe. like AMT did the 58 Plymouth.
  17. Revell has seemed to have gotten that idea. remember when the 1969 Nova was announced. they had two build ups to show the day it was announced. and build ups of the 72 Cutlass hit the show circuit a few weeks after Revell announced it. same goes with the new 57 Bel Air kit (NOT the 150). they had a test shot the day it was announced. I'm sure in two weeks we'll know what the future holds for Revell and AMT
  18. it was a good weekend. got a Revell 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP kit, and a very restorable MPC 67 Chevy Pickup. The builder used zero glue in building it. I'll be combining that with a Model King Camper kit. also got a Lindberg Dodge A100 kit (Little Red Wagon)
  19. Monogram produced a Bugatti EB110 that I believe came out in the late 80's/early 90's. that would be the last Bugatti kitted I'd love to see Revell produce a 2010 F150 SVT Raptor kit. with the popularity of the 1:1 I would think it would be very popular in 1:25 scale
  20. with Revell coming out with a 1957 Bel-Air kit I can understand AMT wanting to get a kit out there. but its not good that AMT did'nt give there best effort. The old tool 57 Bel-Air with no custom parts is a huge disapointment. maybe the "new" AMT should have invested some new custom in the new tool 57 Bel-Air kit to better compete with the Revell one
  21. good Saturday, got a Revell 1998 Camaro Z28, Tamiya Gen 2 Mazda RX7 (Very nice kit, even the sunroof works), and a Fujimi enthusiasts issue 1976 Porsche 911, all for $30
  22. an all new tool 1969 Chevelle would be a very nice usage of that tooling
  23. expect too see some test shot build ups next month at the iHobby show in Chicago. (october 22nd to the 25th). I honestly would not expect too see the the 66 Impala until April or May of next year.
  24. other then the kits not releasesd yet (Revell's 72 Cutlass and 66 Impala), maybe a 1/8 Monogram Camaro. I usually don't plan ahead for projects. projects usually come to me when i'm at the LHS and see a kit on the shelf
  25. with that grill its actually like an 89-90, not a 95
