Another one bites the dust...
gasman replied to MikeMc's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I feel lucky. most of the local Hobby Shops in my area are doing good. the only that might close is because its in a bad area. my main hobby shop just moved into a bigger location, The local economy is doing pretty good since its based mostly on education and health care. -
used the coupon to get a Revell 66 GTO for $9. they had the new Revell Bullitt (68 and 08) kits for a whopping $24.99 each.

I've seen the paint chips. it might just be easier and more correct to backdate the AMT 71 kit to a 70

Panther Pink 71 Charger

There are still alot of surprising cars out there with available manual transmission. did you know you can buy a regular Cadillac CTS with a 6sp. manual a Manual was a must when I bought my Subaru Impreza, and I had no issues finding one I liked. in fact I've never owned an automatic, my first car was a 95 Geo Prism, then an 01 Hyundai Accent, and then an 01 Ford Ranger. all sticks.
-
I guess I'm one of the few who won't buy anything but a manual.

2010 Taurus SHO It all sounds good. twin turbo V6, 365 hp. AWD, but why did they have too ruin it with a stupid fake manual/automatic transmissions. The reason why the SHO died was because they took away the manual transmission. now this one does'nt have one. would it kill the big three too produce a car with a proper 6sp manual Transmission with a clutch

Brookfield did a 93 Caravan/Voyager in promo form. The only difference I believe would be the dash. Tamiya makes an excellent 66 Bug, but i'm not sure what would be needed to convert it to a 73 and sadly no Mclaren F1 has been kitted. I wish there was one but no kit manufacturer ever produced one.

looks good, much better then the 70 Challenger Revell just released. I have too get me one, but if any Mustang experts can tell. that appears too be a 67 interior

The fact that James Harrison was held the entire game. and the fact that Arizona was getting some excellent spots, on there first touchdown run they had a couple generous spots that where gifts from the officials. The NFL is going to start adding chips too the balls too the balls so that they can get some accurate spots

its says on plastic-model.com that its due out now (late Jan). so i'm guessing we should see it any day now

looks like another excellent kit.

gasman replied to LDO's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
not sure of this is what your looking for but dynacorn classic bodies makes crate bodies of 69 Camaro, and 67 Mustang, these are stock and are not cheap. about $15,000, , C.A.R.S. INC selles of crate 55 and 57 chevy I've not seen a Nova body. but I remember seeing these in Hot Rod Magazine a few years ago -

Cmon Montoya, hold off those Porsches -
what paint should I use to make plastic tires look realistic. The kit i'm working on only has hard plastic tires molded in white, and I need them too be painted black and look realistic.
-
your right. I assume they did that so that it is easier to apply the decals. but I don't think it would make any difference. according too reference both cars use the exact same wheel. right down too the same center cap. Bullitt Wheels 07 GT-H wheels

Technically there both European since the Challenger is based of the Chrysler LX platform. which is was developed originally by Mercedes-Benz which they used in the S-class -
I'd really like it if Revell reissued there 1/8 and 1/16 F body Camaro's. there great kits.

I sold my Ranger, now have a 2008 Subaru Impreza 2.5i sedan. its stock right now but once the weather gets nicer i'm gonna get some wheels for it. this off course isn't an actual picture. but its just like mine.

picked this kit up today, thought I'd write a small review. the kit is basically the 2006 GT kit, with the one piece body (front bumper molded in) it has the wheels from the 06 GT-H kit. which are inaccurate for the 06 GT-H, but accurate for the Buillitt Mustang. the tires are the same as all the other 06+ Mustang kits (except the Shelby KR)There is only 1 piece of new sprue in the kit, and that part has the grill in it, as well as the intake, one minor mistake from Revell is that they didn't fill in the holes for the spoiler. they did give little plugs for the spoiler holes but for the best appearance those holes would have too be filled with putty, and sanded smooth. The kit includes all the stock parts from the 06 issue from the kit, so you could build a stock 07-09 Mustang GT from the kit if they didn't want to build the Bullitt car. The decals sheet is tiny compared to the other version of this kit, but still very good. it includes all the correct bullitt emblems, as well as the under hood decals. and decals fir the dash

when Kevin Harvick drove for the Coast Guard he also had "Guarda Costas" on the side of his car in a few south west races in 2006
