Let's See Some Glue Bombs!
DukeE replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Always wanted to build the Jocko Johnson Streamliner out of one of those. It'd never get far. Amazed a resin guy hasn't done it, about as iconic as anything. -
Deadliest car in america.

Umm, what kind of church vandalizes an inanimate object decades after the "reports" of deaths, multiple times? Or cuts it up? Or calls someone a "witch"? Guess that's the new normal. Sounds like there's something in the water, or at the church that's the problem. Christine was fake. This is fake. Delusional. That said, I agree with Bill. Except it'll acquire paperwork for it to be the only 4-door Superstock in existence too -
Some of the bent ones get better when you slide floor in. The windshield cowl crack looks bad too but it is better with chassis in and reinforcing under the split. Great kit.

Cool Casey. This issue is the only one with the side curtains. Still has Frontenac in it, some police stuff. Doubt it'll get the push bar or light bar from the Mopar

Biggest pet peeves on builds.

+1 million. Like a bad movie or reality TV, you get dumber looking at it. Tracking down a vendor in there is agony, wading thru menus/replies/dreck. I'm decent with social media, but I loathe Facebook and Zuckermann. -
I've pretty much have everything I wanted after a few decades. But I see complete intact built-up prices going up. The vendors that break up vintage kits for parts are meeting a need, but that supply can't last too long. Not all those parts will sell, and more will break up kits, so supply diminishes and prices rise. Don and Carol did an amazing job filling a crater, not a niche. We all got spoiled, and sadly no one could carry it on on their scale or quality. It would be really hard chasing cars now. If you're not near any swap meets, even harder, as eBay only has a moderate pool of decent builders. Good luck to those trying.

Yeah. A few flaws seem to look better, like the 70-72 T/A's Snake showed with the shoulder pads. LOL. And 65-66 Mustangs come out pretty nice. If Danbury and Airfix could get the nose of a DB-5 pretty dead on, and nail various 300 Chryslers, the Mk2, others, I just boggle at the misses. Welly and Maisto can crush it, even Burago with the Atlantique and the 55 (horrible tires and some oversized trim excused). Think washing a car 40-50 times by hand should be mandatory for anyone trying to model one. No better way to see how curves and surfaces meet. Or what trim sticks out or doesn't. #notgonnahappen. And geez, I looked at the hood of that Bullitt mustang with the hood turn signal indicators. They're recessed, those things look like a vent on a '10 Shelby. Just. NO. I'll just buy stuff that's close enough I won't only see the flaw. Or pass. Quattroruote rescued me in many ways. LOL.

I guess I can't get by the noses of any of them. Had a 289 Convert I showed at MCA, and a KK 429 I did same. None of them look right, save for some 65-66's. The 2 red cars look like they ran onto the back of something, but that usually pushed hood down. Instead it just stops. Jillions made. Iconic car, and nobody can get 67-70 correct? AMT 67/68 Shelby's look ok, the promos/promo based kits. But diecasts, really? Guess I'm too picky about things like that on cars I've had.

LOL. Oh well, there's hope for uncle Dudley's dead base Mercury Monarch 4 door, and his wife's B210 Honeybee. Just beyond words. Hope everyone complaining wanting new issues buys these. I'll stick with reissues.

Makes me think of an offshore tool maker that's never seen a 62 Chrysler, alone under the hood of one. I'd suspect most people would have no clue where anything goes anymore.

For the import fans
DukeE replied to Richard Bartrop's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Best I can tell, they made about 50 sets of Bibendum wheels. At least they fit standard tires, unlike the TRX's I dealt with long ago. Great tires still. -

Ronal teddy bear wheels came out in 1978 iirc. Ronal is German company, so everything tested by TuV, quite roadworthy. Ronal made FWD offset mesh wheels before BBS really did. The xylophone wheels and the china plate wheels are much newer. Likely aimed at JDM market. Duh. I do think the xylophone wheels (colorwheel) are kinda neat. Evil teddy These are Borbet A 5 spokers that someone painted a roulette wheel on the rim, and the ball is the valve stem cap. Wood spokes painted, better if black. Porsche has normal 1-pc blacked out wheels. Baller needs the 3-pc roulette wheels. These are OEM Mazda wheels off a Mazda 121 Koala from '94. Michelin Mr. Bibendum wheels. Let the hatin' hate ? -
Resin 1977 and 1985 Lincoln kits.
DukeE replied to Againmikewins's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Thank you sir. Found it. Other than some insanely priced Japanese tin, I've never found Buick Y-job before. The first real US "show car". So cool, un-kitted. Need. -

Jalopnik comments section yesterday ticket info. "From the citation of Thim: Observed (3) total 2020 Corvettes turn from Scottsville Road onto Ken Bale Blvd and accelerate heavily. While observing the Corvettes, all 3 made a left turn onto Middle Bridge Road and then a right onto Lovers lane. The above (Red) Corvette accelerated heavily in the left lane on Lovers Lane and achieved a speed of 120 MPH in the posted 45 MPH zone. Night conditions. The White Corvette was stopped in the right lane and achieved a top speed of 100 MPH. The last Corvette (Blue) was driven by a witness and did not participate in the race. The Corvettes were observed at speed from the intersection of Middle Bridge until the traffic stop was conducted at Olde Towne Blvd. The odor of an alcoholic beverage was present on the breath of the operator. PBT detected presence of alcohol. The party stated that they were all familiar with each other and were employees of GM. The individuals had been at “Que Time” before contact was made this date. GM owns all Corvettes involved. Speed was detected visually and confirmed by same direction, moving radar. Stalker DSR 2x radar was calibrated before this shift." -
Where did you find the 1/24 trailers on eBay? I've not seen those. I have the Galaxie kits but pre-finished is preferable.

Alcohol involved. No. Just No. -
The sci-fi guys seem happy with both makers. I expect they don't lurk with 40% coupons either. Both companies seem to have that niche going well, R2 > R-M. Sad to see so many unhappy people complaining all the time over inconsequential stuff, adamantly so. They have real badness in their life, they'll be in deep guano. At least they don't listen to anyone else's logic or suggestions Don't. Feed. The . Trolls.

. Shot down like a Ukrainian one. Sadly, the hijacker never learned, kept coming back. Don't. Feed. Trolls. They make us all dumber. Hope we hear something soon

It's an internet thing. One example- http://www.annarbor.com/news/crime/man-busted-for-allegedly-cooking-meth-in-front-seat-of-mustang/ Back on topic. Grumpy's Vega, I never liked the kit, loved the car. Now I need the kit. P/S ain't a thing anymore

I'd do something soon while you're still in the EU. Once that's over, you're done. Contact bank, stop payment/reverse charges, and send it back signature required and insured. Photos of damage, all of it, and photos of return packing, outside of box (video better), and shipping receipts. If they "lose" the return, insurance covers you. Good luck. Guys, he's in UK, not Ohio or CAN.

Spreading out the tool roll was to cover the transaxle LOL. Same with spare. We'll know, but only pitas will complain I've got tool roll pics for ya if needed. Jack was medium blue. LOL. The doors, trunk, and plaques are enough. The console badge is fine too. That was bustin' chops. Hows the HL covers?
