  1. Any updates on chrome possibilities? Not necessarily Greg, but anyone? Saw elsewhere GT Kustom Khrome not responding to EM's, haven't used them. Thought I'd bump thread.
  2. Yup. http://carmodelingcorner.com/MIP/JoHan_InP/JoHan_1935_Mercedes_Benz_500K.htm
  3. Same old show rod pile on. Go on over to Trekkie/Sci-Fi board and try same. Opinions are fine. I don't like it much either, but it's money to run/fix/tool other stuff. Predictable anyway. I guess I've not seen people dump on drag/semi/Euro threads like this, but OK. Show rod, Kustoms, rat rods, and stance cars, open season. Really only board I've been on that does this. 'Murica. Intolerance. Xenophobia. LOL. If y'all feel like dissing outside a keyboard, go to a biker bar and say HD's suck. They won't discuss tolerance much. You guys are hysterical. Happy Holidays (geez that'll probably get responses too ?) PS Bob, I LOL'd about Coke decals.
  4. Casey, you proudly earned this. More fun laden threads found. Props, brudda. My nominee for worst kit is Arii C111 Mercedes. Makes Palmer look like a Pocher.
  5. Thank you JC. Pretty big change for the one issue (that I recall). That's the perfect shell for a corrected swb R or lwb 69-73 long hood non RS/ST. Minimal flares, take down the sill trim. I'd never really seen the normal coupe molding until now, not a real common kit that I've seen. Moving the wheelwell not awful it seems. Just unsure if it rises high enough on the need scale to join the backlog. So many reasonably straightforward projects/resin. You guys are motivating me though. Sorry about leaky inner monologue on cost-benefit. ? Thanks again JC. Learned stuff as always.
  6. Geez, more blue-grey ? Looks like Benz Steel Blue. Got a 1:1 in that color, so you're 2/2 for 19. You shooting for 1 a month in '20? Geez, you guys slay it. Sports car and rally car guys here knock me over.
  7. Sadly the figures seem larger than 1/24. I don't have them to hand, but that's my recollection/disappointment. Kit really is Monogram/Aurora clone in some ways, awful Dunlop wires (replace with RMCM wires/tires). Body is ok, only real option anymore. Airfix better, but price difference has narrowed a lot.
  8. I like it, suspected that was ST with the Minilites in back. Neat cars. Front wheelwell always needs work too, looks like you radiused more arch in top. Project to build 72 S with oil door, Bahia Red, 2.8 barrels with 46IDA's and headers/sport muffler may be doable. TIA for pics if you have time.
  9. Thanks JC. I meant wheelbase shortening. Not huge work, flat pan, just annoying. Bummer. Can build Singer I guess, or a Magnus. Meh. I always loved the 2.2 rear window decal. Needed larger numbers for later cars. 3.4, 3.8. Bigger too, they were tiny decals. I have a couple R's from trades, never looked hard at rear fenders. One's a parts car for a Lindberg 906. Did you ever know Al Starr (RIP) in MAMA's btw? Thanks.
  10. I have the R, but never had a narrow body (is there one?) like the 69. R is a 67, so it should be SWB too, you can see in the fender behind door how short it is compared to later cars. Is the R an actual short wheelbase car? It doesn't look to be, 69 is long car too IIRC. That'd be somewhat of a mess to shorten, never have seen swb resin.
  11. He did, I have the pickup. Decent work.
  12. Even 21 hours ago! Boolean searches a mind-buster. Easy to route with wire in center. For all the fun water intercoolers and plumbing. Prob would work for large electric motor conduit too.
  13. Thank god someone dug it up for you. Try Bill's tutorial on how to look for things in the forum. It's from 2013, but still is relevant. Lurking after you??? Bwahahahahahaha.. Yeah Steve, it's all about you.
  14. Matt bronze and blacks don't do this car justice. Great build. More blue than Grigio Lynx? Like it.
  15. Second time this is posted, had replies in last day or so. Desperately resisted using LMGTFY
  16. Great build of nice kit. 22B is personal favorite. Very cool
  17. The goal in model building is to achieve an end result that is as realistic as possible. Not paint flakes. The above statement is likely the issue. Sadly it was quoted, and I smiled, expected nothing less. Sweeping dictums and Webster's definitions. LOL Post up when you've got fuel in the filter and fluid in the reservoir, all possible. For example, Bill and Dann's builds and attitudes are less dogmatic and condescending. Superiority only works when one is superior. Humility takes effort.
  18. 60 years too early. And it still would at most have 1 person in it. If it had fins it'd sell
  19. Cool Rothman's phantom Dakar competitor to go with the 956
  20. The Matchbox issue box art looks far more like a toy than the kit really is. Not compelling one to buy and build one's dream car. Probably would have sold some Hubleys though. This box was posted here for bad box art, Daytona as a dirt track. Car looks great, so I can live with that fatal flaw. Really nice kit too, shared nothing with the 69. Tool gone I'm sure.
  21. Oh geez. We should do something like that. 57 Tank is in the LM stuff, a Chapron SM Opera 4 door, and early corrugated 2CV (better than Gunze resin), a DS21 Chapron 4 door, a Rosalie, the Facel I've missed, the Pegaso too. LM stuff with Bentley, other stuff needed. The picks of the FnF and US stuff look like some Welly stuff, as does a couple of the Porsches (73 RS esp) I've got a lot of these but not many lately. The B20 Lancia in Tintin looks crude. And the 70 Camaro in the pic looks to have flares and Minilites like a Chaparral race car, the CHev woody looks like the off scale one by whichever.
  22. Cool thread. The Scalemates AMT thread omitted the Frog completely, yet it got lumped in with the Hubley blobular roadster/ht. Hubley was 1/24, but more like 1/23. The same post lumped in the Italeri roadster and gullwing, Heller gullwing. None of which are great, though the Italeri 300 roadster is adequate, 1/24. Glad to see this AMT kit get some love, pretty great kit engineering. Nice builds. And now, I have to chase a Frog Chaparral 2B.
  23. Boxes, at least my faves. 1st, second (rare, Frog prob rarer here), and mid 70's issue. I believe there are 3 other issues. The Matchbox wins ugliest box art by miles. Still, car looks nice.
  24. Rare boxing of AMT kit. Frog issued a few AMT kits, including a 68 Galaxie, Mustang, 58 Chevy. I've never seen this box. Pretty cool. The regular AMT's are cheap and plentiful, but this kit is started, so value is less. I think it's nicer than Tamiya, actually. One of AMT's best. BTW, it's 1/25 not 1/24
  25. Great paint, fun kit. Gorilla sounds like worth a try. That scribed Plastruct you're using?
