  1. No, 12V, batteries just looked kinda like 6V. Battery fine either way. Like the fire system. On option lists and window stickers they call it 'handly fire extinguisher'. 5 Rib cap is correct as far as every one I've seen/had. Same as gas cap. Steering was worm and roller, but great feedback. Diagrams scarce but I'm looking. Shared externals with 2 cam, I found these.
  2. Brand new headers are FB. Cap in front of batt is oil fill. Dry sump tank is in behind battery in fender. huge but Invisible. Just fill tube. Not a wet sump like 2cams. Battery with Magnetti decal is correct, looks almost like 6V. Don't worry about lower hose, but you will. Included dry sump and cooler detail. Simple loop cooler, things always ran cool anyway, even in traffic. It's just me, but I'd swap to 6 cap battery. The series stuff is only for nutballs that show this stuff. Fiamm or Magnetti decals ok, both OEM. Tailpipes look awesome. tiniest bit of dark brown/tan wash just past lip adds the nice lean mixture from running snot out of it rather than idling in traffic rich. LOL.
  3. Looks like Ferrari dohc V8, carbed. Transverse mounting so likely a 308. Maybe Revell Magnum PI 308 GTS? Never had it, but most carbed 308 kits are engineless. Pre-'80, after that were injected. OK, looked up instructions. Carb stacks look like MPC's out of late 80's Vettes, see step 4B in lower instructions/ Stock Magnum kit had airbox. Wires and fuel rail might be a Testors/Gunze, but I've not had it either.
  4. LOL. That's an Automobile Club of Italy membership sticker, expires in Dec. 65, so too early for 4 cam. Fun detail though, like an AAA sticker. The carb photos are a 3 carb 2 cam, so great for a Cal or non-Comp SWB build. Sorry I'm posting this stuff so much. Just spent a lot of time with these things over the years.
  5. Found it for ya The dry sump filler is knurled cap near battery. Correct battery in pic below. The top pic shows the vac booster, color is dead on. Washer bag is black, this car is a NART alloy coupe, so not series.
  6. Great build of great looking truck. Headlights look fantastic, how'd you do that?
  7. Hey, that was not directed at you. I agree that the car was a mess, certainly not a race car. Sorry if you felt it was personal, it is not. Yours was a cogent comment. Not hateful at all. Thanks.
  8. All the wires go out the side. Not that I like these motors. This pic may help, car is wrong in a few areas, your photos are correct. But you can see distributors better, and tapering plug tube that probably is imperceptible in scale, which means you'll dupe it Carb detail sorely lacking, but airbox obviates that. If need be, Norm's 250TR carbs are fairly close, but stacks won't fit with airbox. Hose clamps were usually those wonky paperclip things that failed. Original oil filters were Baldwins And because doors, here's shot of jamb on door. Dear god please don't make warning light work
  9. Cool. Hopefully has motor better than PRV 6. For all the haters, time attack cars are stupid fast, get snot pounded out of them. The "entertainment center" adds downforce for cornering. No real rules about that so people go nuts. Ugly but effective. More useful than a red pro-street Camaro that can't go straight for 1/8mi. Oldest time attack race is Pike's Peak. So much older than you. The Audi in first pic is from '87. Factory built. Owned record at PP for ages. Hate away, free to do so. LOL. Go to a Mustang/Porsche/Vette board and do same, or friends living room. For the rest of us open-minded that like this stuff, here ya go.
  10. You can fudge the wires to the plugs with a short lead. The tube the wires are in tapers a bit towards the front. Maybe cut down strip wiring out of dead computer for brief run to lead tube? I hate wiring, so I never do it. Another minor thing, the hydraulic fluid reservoirs are semi opaque. Maybe a fluid level in them? You guys knew that I'd guess, but it always looked funny with empty fluid reservoirs. Even fresh they still have a little color. God. I'm SG. Sorry. At least it's not a post GM crpwagon. Still in awe of you guys. Quality and quantity. So much win.
  11. Looks great. That is a footrest btw. Scale trunk latch would be pita, as they were incredibly tiny to start with. Crackle cam covers correct. Unsure if flocking fine enough to put on, then semi black over that. Master cylinder booster looks perfect.
  12. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_attack It's for this. Purpose built race car. Like hillclimbers, serious autocross, track cars. Not for mass market.
  13. Please, can we ignore excrement stirring, martyrdom, and slights from 2 generations ago? Maybe a C8/sky is falling thread? SMH New Land Rover tool is pretty nice, see build threads here. G-Rev has tooled nice stuff in 24th in past. So wish they'd reboot the Dragon M3 E36. Or do a 720 followup to the 570.
  14. 57 and 51 years ago. Most people can't tell you a single news event from either year. Now ANY (good in most cases) publicity is good publicity. Everyone has seen it. But paperwork intervenes. Personally think it's over-styled and ugly, and I love ME cars. Ehh. LOL, just looked at "Blue Sports Car" box. IP atty will enjoy that. Impressed at 400pc though. Definitely not pre-school.
  15. ;Wheels would look great on Alpina 3 series if big enough for E30/36. Wish they'd do more current stuff, Golf 7,8; E46, E90-92; some popular in Japan foreign iron. Kit looks decent, how much is new vs. old? I can't tell which tools have been around, I lose track.
  16. Bwahahahahahahahahahahaha...breathe...bwahahahahahahahaha. Post of the year
  17. If you own a Coke distributorship, you just paid for your Charger as "Advertising" and deducted it. Really looks like a wrap, a very good one. Buses use them. Trunk cooler easy to reverse.
  18. Please don't start unfounded rumors. Could be licensing, could be in pipeline, or could be unannounced. This isn't the whole year, there are additional announcements all year. Not personal, but people infer if it was on intarweb, it's true. Bankruptcy of a corporation with new buyers pauses, kills, or restarts lots of things.
  19. Box art of new E is indeed the old box art of the 1/8 E. The Aurora/Monogram E resembles an E that was backed into and nose crushed. Bumpers and HL covers still can't fix it or the roof, which is incorrect for a 2 seat or a 2+2 . We can give Revell the benefit of doubt, as the new Land Rover kit is pretty nice.
  20. But what about the LTW hardtop? ? Customers (Fun fact-Lego is largest tire producer in the world https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lego_tire ) I remembered your great FIA build. It is indeed the Sunny weirdness. It just looked a little less bulbous in the rear fenders. Windshield layback not there, doors, nada. Puzzling why they'd take that on unless cheap.
  21. Cool, I didn't know Ebbro in loop. Early Westies weren't full length, I don't think. Bay windows were first with full length. There may have been a longer pop-up that was factory, or one that fit the ragtop hole. Interesting to learn.
  22. Pics copied from DBO's link to flyer above. Cobra looks like Sunny by wheels, but rear fenders seem less bulbous? Not FIA by long shot, but maybe closer? T2 is called Bay-window, which is what is depicted in photo. T1 Camper looks like Westfalia, I forget if they called it that on T1's E looks decent, Heller really pretty nice after all these years. Hoping that's real tool. Norm@ RMCM has Tamiya Dunlop wires and tires that are perfect, cheaper than FPP (though worth every nickel). Run away from fright pig Monogram/Aurora E-type, GTO, run fast. DB4, Maserati 3500 are decent, some builds here. Gunze E is nice, rear 1/3 wheelwell needs more curve (years washing a family 67 E OTS). I can see no changes to i8. I thought convertible may come, but I guess edition of coupe. Happy New Years.
  23. Type 1 looks fun, as do most of those. Mauser might be in the Hase Kubelwagen. Things have an insane amount of weapons, way above the GVW of the car. Worth a look. FPP AU needs a "quickie", his kits are amazing. Nart will be fine. You're putting more attention in it than they did when they built the 1:1. Trust me. Drivetrain guys only ones that pay attention.
  24. I'm a not very wide body fan. But for a Gemballa, there's this. IIRC there was cabrio too, white box art. Fujimi may have done one, but I think it was a Koenig, simple kit.
  25. Really great build Kurt. Love these cars. One could go nuts with one of these I think, much better than I expected. Fun. HNY, time for a Torano 1959 and look at the scenery.
