Spare tire. Just sayin'. Or display the books and brochures. Spare is in 250 Cal trunk, but they're all the same. Toss the thing in. Oh, and the trans hump badge is this

At least the C8R is better looking. All the decals cover up the, ummm, many lines, in, uh, many directions.

It's a rare Bewitched TV car? Or, those are the most amazing flotation tires I've ever seen! -
Early Land Speed Record cars would be pretty fun, look wicked. Steam punk before that was a thing. Babs, Chitties, Various Campbell efforts. Fernando Pinto does a few, really excellent castings, does 14 Benz GP car, a Bluebird or 2. Etzel RIP used to cast that killer Stutz LSR as well. And what could a Miller 91 hurt? We'll probably not see much, but nice to see a lot of consensus.

I would think race cars from this era would be best sellers. Old guys like touring cars, but few younger than 50 have even seen one. Race cars especially from that era are pretty cool looking. 999, which few car guys even remember, is huge in Ford history, started their racing legacy. Mercer, King Alphonso Hisso and Stutz were roadable race cars, like T35 Bug. Race versions of those would sell. Early Indy cars would sell, just because history, and they looked fast. Marmon, Peugeot, Duesies, others pretty awesome. People outside the nutball fringe can relate. Reasonably simple to tool.

Early Grump action FTW. Mustang GT ok, agree on BFG's. Needs Gatorbacks from Vette kit. And an HL fix. 5 spokers would be cool. Sold my Ohio George 60 Ranchero, need a 60 though. Dumb. So I'll pop that too.

Both front and rear suspensions sit really high. Built a few, had some 1:1's. Both tracks a bit wide, front more than rear. Fun kit.

A way to get around licensing?
DukeE replied to Oldcarfan27's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yeah, China really doesn't have any intellectual property recognition. Been so for decades, hence "cheap Chinese knock-offs". They've cloned iPhones, X5's, all of it. Really only place that big that does that. Sitting on exports outside China only way to fight it. So much stuff is sourced from them, because nobody will build it here, that it's necessary evil. However, the strong brands work better, cars certainly crash better. So market for real stuff still strong. Decals are one thing for names. IP for TV shows, music, etc. are a minefield. Roadrunner could have been a "speedy chicken", but it wasn't. Don't tick off a legal department that's larger than the staff at the model company, for which you may need further licensing. -
Stolen from Matt Bacon post on Britmodeller https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234983499-bugatti-veyron-and-mclaren-p1-airfix-124ish/ I have these as well. Sort of a snap-fast plus. Far from Lego, couple pieces not seen similar. Other than diecast, only kits of these iconic cars. P1 needed to be kitted instead of 570. Detailed up, painted, panel fitted a bit, pretty nice shelf model.

A facsimile of the design is unacceptable in court. Some "jeep-lookalike" thing just got nailed in last few weeks. Appel computers ain't gonna fly. If GM really wanted to, they could grind Hase under their boot. Takes a long time to build a brand. You let one thing pass undefended, and more come. You can lose the brand copyright at some point. Same holds for music, etc. Rearranging letters is enabling breach of copyright. Think of it as ID theft. It's not a problem until it's yours. -
Quick build new tools: New Audi TT; Mustang; newest R8; Jag I-Pace e-Trophy; 68 Mustang; Raptor; Bugatti Chiron. And 1/48 air race liveries on Spitfire

Rob, could you repost in K3 thread in new kits please? I bumped older thread, couldn't really copy past stuff well over there. Thanks, good info.

Okay, what happened?

Alphonso Hispano, '14 dohc Peugeot, 999, Marmon Wasp. For later, a Y-job. All massive milestones, race cars, and mostly ignored save for the Hispano, and that wasn't 1/24 -
I usually see the thread links at the bottom of my mobile view. I look, as I recognize some. Agree there's great stuff in them, have to use Google to find links better here though. Don't really see on my laptop. I use Chrome browser on PC, and iPhone resident browser on phone. I wasn't complaining earlier if anyone took it that way. I was just getting a laugh about Casey, who is a font of knowledge, and brings older threads to life when stuff is reissued. Gotta love the guy. Anyway, if more people looked, they'd learn a ton. Less drama in older threads too, mostly.

Their website is mess today. Some new 1/24 quick builds though, and Yay! a Coke branded T1 and Type 1 New QB's include R8, Chiron, Raptor

Copy paste from other thread. Ron, I am also eagerly awaiting this kit! However, someone pointed out that the model looked awkward. I looked into it, and came up with the following quick & dirty shape analysis. I *really* hope that the photo is of a prototype model, not the production kit. Can you compare your model to the photos below and comment? Thanks in advance! Rob

Back to the Future...
DukeE replied to Sam I Am's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
PRV was boat anchor, and hung behind the wheels seems anti-Lotus. Backbone chassis sure, hence Tesla, Hennessey using Loti chassis. Probably a cynical money grab for Chapman trying to pay for race cars, which is a good thing. Lotus actually got paid for their work IIRC. Sadly, last Lotus I liked was 26R, and I owned an 83 Esprit Turbo with pressurized SU's back in '85, which is why 26R is last one I liked. -
Original issue only MC kits. Someone makes them in resin, sorry I can't recall caster. Link to another thread in this thread. Great kit of cool car. Have all but the molded in yellow Superstang.

Sad. Cool kit, price evidently not insane. Fun considering AMG version, or early Petronas F1. Usual self-destruct. Only board I've been on where people go to dump on threads of stuff they don't like, rumor-monger sans fact, etc. Try that on a 1:1 board, or a casual acquaintance's living room, it won't go well. Glad the mods are killing the BS. Too much good on the board for narrow minded negativity.
