  1. Finished up the shop equipment. Added decals and scratch built stand for the lathe.
  2. Have any of you watched any of the Australian Super car races? They aren't afraid to beat and bang if they need to. The smaller tire size makes it so that they are on the edge of grip all the time but, in the event they go a bit off line, they can whip up some dust wrestle it back on track and keep going. They also use the whole side of the car for their sponser's logo. NOT the car number. I also get kind of a kick out of the announcer's vocabulary from "down under". The only down side is the pit stops are really boring because the fuel fill takes so long the 4 tire changers could be grandmas
  3. I met someone at a local model show that used wet look clear and it looked so good I went out and bought 6 cans at the first opportunity. I used it on my last two car builds. I loved it.
  4. You NAILED the stance! Nice wheels too.
  5. Welcome Bill! Excuse me while I drool over your cool Merc.
  6. Guido, Tips for your build. Sand the cab halves mating surfaces on a large piece of sandpaper (taped to a very flat surface). That way, their joining will not have any gaps. 2nd, remove the large ceiling portion of the windows so that the parts that will show, will be flexible enough to meet up with the window frames. 3rd, trim down the perimeter of the assembled interior prior to stuffing it in the cab body. It is too tight and will try to split your nicely painted cab in two.
  7. Guido, Yes there is. Thanks for the interest.
  8. Interesting subject. Following.
  9. Very nice indeed. Good photography as well.
  10. Saw the original movie in the theater (probably like many of you). Always liked gold on black.
  11. Thank you for sharing some model history with us.
  12. Thank you David, be my guest.
  13. Thank you David. I bought them off ebay as a printed page ready to cut out. I used regular index card stock to get the thickness close.
  14. How about a Pro Mod drag racer with the long flat shelf wing off the trunk. Long and sleek. Heck I'll even send you the aluminum sheet to make the wing!
  15. It needs a little bigger front tires but THAT IS GORGEOUS!!!!!!
  16. I too would LOVE to have a 74 GTO as two of my cousins and a former coworker had one. I have managed to acquire 12 unbuilt GTO kits which include every year from 64 to 72 except for 71. Any opinions on which engines are the best or worst?
  17. Wow! That turned out pretty nice.
  18. Made some Chilton manuals for the work bench library.
  19. Thanks John. I recently made some license plates by applying generic plate decals on some aluminum. I even rounded the corners on all of them. My left index finger and thumb were pretty fatigued after all the hand filing.
  20. You all made me vary curious as to the variations. I found this link. http://www.mustangandfords.com/features/1812-1971-1973-mustang-spotters-guide
  21. I am currently building a diorama for a backdrop. When looking back at photos of my builds, where I took the photo is all over the place. Add in the variations in lighting and the results were hit and miss. Like you I have seen models displayed with nice back drops and like the added touch it brings. It makes viewing the subject more interesting.
  22. Continuing the stripes on the hood. Well done!
  23. Very unique subject done very well. You should be proud.
  24. I am kind of with Snake here. After first joining forums and seeing the high quality builds of others, I joined the quest for perfection. My vision was 90% there but my skills were only 75% of what would be required. After my two Freightliner builds, I was pretty pleased with the results. I found I have the patience but the man-hours required really makes the build stretch out. I still am working for a living and maintaining a house and a yard. I have backed off some to keep my builds good enough for me and gain a few compliments but I do not have a appreciative audience in my circle of influence. I am back to building for fun, which is why I do it in the first place.
