  1. I remember seeing this 1:1 car in person at the 1987 Streetmachine Nationals in DuQuoin, IL. I think I have VHS tape of the event somewhere in the attic. (about 6hrs worth)
  2. Boston in Omaha, NE. It just after their 2nd album came out. They did 5 encores. They played every song off both albums. We were there until 2AM. It was awesome!
  3. DANG! That is sweet! motor stance, wheels front axle EVERYTHING! Following.
  4. My sentiments exactly. I purposely leave mirrors off just for that reason. I actually have a little baggie full of mirrors.
  5. Nice choice of color. The best man at my wedding owned one in orange. He has Cragar S/S's
  6. I am really digging the paint job. Far out man!
  7. My sentiments exactly!
  8. I'm with David here. I love the concept of what you are doing very much. I would suggest lengthening the roof. I will be following this build.
  9. With vehicles, everything is pretty much attached. With dioramas, there are a lot of moving parts (unless they are glued) so that gives the freedom to change the scene. Another advantage is it can showcase various finished builds and/or builds-in-progress to give it more variety.
  10. My first load has arrived for my diorama on my new lowboy rig. Some of it still needs detailed but here we go.
  11. Thank you for the compliments everyone!
  12. Thanks everyone. It seems I hit on another well received color combo.
  13. Well it is finally done. Started in Sept '19 finished Apr '20. Started with a vision and it turned out better than I had hoped. Comments welcome.
  14. Very nice for your first effort. Good call on the lift off cab. I build mine that way. Saves a lot of aggravation not to mention damage.
  15. Very nice build. You should be proud.
  16. Thanks Tom, Though it is my first rig in a number of years, I didn't find it too difficult. I was warned about the cab seam so I sanded them flat before assembly. The mirrors were quite a pain though as was the super tight fit of the interior into the cab. It took a lot of patience to get it so nice.
  17. I just installed the second one this evening. Pesky buggers. (2) CB antennas and I am done!
  18. Thanks Shambles I built it last fall. I was looking into getting a 3D printer too. I wanted rectangular headlights for my Freightliners and KWs REALLY BAD! Fortunately Auslowe makes them in resin which saved me the trouble. I have been ordering some diorama items on ebay and the quality of the 3D printed surfaces is hit and miss. I avoid body putty and sanding because it is such a hassle to me. I have been making my own decals for awhile with waterslide paper and an inkjet printer. While I have the artwork side of things figured out, I have to deal with color limitations. (No white, silver or gold etc).
