Thanks for sharing. You did a superb job.

Steve, I got them from Auslowe. However, I think all they are are organic brush bristles. When I tried to rattle can them white, the paint beaded making the effect look like spiral wrapped fiberglass antennas. The tips were simply dipped in red Testors enamel.

Clear Over Decals
Bills72sj replied to DoctorLarry's topic in WIP: Stock Cars (NASCAR, Super Stock, Late Model, etc.)
I'll put my 2 cents in here. Alps printed gold decals plus Testors Clear Glosscoat = wrinkled decals. Been using Future brushed on ever since. However, I have never been brave enough to wet sand OR polish ANY of my paint jobs. (seems too risky to me) -
Well it is finally finished. I learned a lot from building this one. I scratch built and modified a number of items. I highly recommend slotting the frame holes for the cab (tilt/pivot) to facilitate the bazzilion times you will take the cab on and off during the build.

Friend of mine Roadway build
Bills72sj replied to BuilderX's topic in Model Trucks: Big Rigs and Heavy Equipment
Nicely weathered rig. I like the "repairs" on the trailer. As a suggestion, share with him the pic below to help with AMT's tires fitting to the rims. -
WOW that is a GORGEOUS COLOR!

some of my collection

That is one AWESOME batch of Big Rigs. I love the shop too. It must be huge! Are the sleepers on the Pete COEs that big or did you extend them? -
Good to see it being saved. In checking out that intake system on the engine, I noticed it seemed to designed for air only (No fuel)

Unique set up there. I see you got the cab to sit flat (not leaning forward). Any tricks to that?

You did a stellar job on the interior. I have seen the box art a few times over the years. I didn't remember seeing the flames.

That is awesome! I just started my diorama this week and had $24 worth of boxes in my shopping cart on ebay. Now I can just print the ones I want. I just have to get index card stock.

I like what you are doing. I would have built mine (someday) with all the flaws included. When my skillset eventually includes bodywork. I will use this tutorial to improve my result. Color for yours? I vote for Bright Metallic Blue.

My Freightliners are nearly complete. Just slowly adding chrome bits to the cabs. Got a big head start on my FIRST EVER diorama Wednesday. Cut a bazzilion pieces from the trees and have preassembled some of them in preparation to paint. I have some wall cabinets from an Ernie Irvan race transporter that are getting modified for use in my "Day Two Garage". Removed top of back wall, converting wheel well cover to open space under the drawers. Added toe kick and cove base to make it more accurate as a work bench in a building. You cannot see them in the pic but there are actually power outlets molded into the backsplash.

My first car was a '68 Malibu 307 powerglide in that color. Unfortunately I totaled it before I had it very long.

Beautiful build Keith. Someday I will make a silver one like my buddy had. Any issues with the kit?

Songs about toilet paper. Is it me or is it getting a little strange around here....

I like them too. The Best Man at my wedding had an orange one.
