Hello everyone, I'm on vacation this week, I usually take one in October to finish all the fall chores but the weather is terrible, it's raining every day, too bad, the last 2 weeks were like summer, I guess Mother Nature gave it all she had in store.... I had some time available so I made the battery holder, it will be mounted in the bed right next to the kill switch. I read that the NHRA does not accept standard "J" rods as a mount and that the bracket must be bolted to the body so I designed something that should meet their requirements. The main support is made of aluminum in 2 parts and the rods are brass tubes, the bolts pass through them and screw to the body. I will have to make the terminals and add a decal on the battery, I am still in the work in progress after all...? Comments and questions are always welcome. Thanks Mike! I think the colored molded sprue is a good trick when you don't want to paint small parts and when you are a little bit lazy... ? To answer your question, all parts will be removed before painting the body, the kill switch is no exception, it is only mounted temporarily to check the fit. Francis

My workspace is getting dusty and I'll have to switch (not kill switch...) to second gear soon before I forget the assembly sequences I had planned. I hope I don't blow a fuse myself as far as my patience is concerned... ?

Hello everyone, I finally found some time here and there to make some of the details to put in the bed. A little more stuff to add on the pile... ? The kill switch is the first of the three parts to be made, the battery support (and the battery of course...) and the fuel tank will follow as time permits. I hope to get back to you soon with more updates, comments are always welcome. Francis The support bracket is made from 0.005'' aluminum. Main body in the rotary table. Kill switch terminals. Most of the components of the kill switch, the shaft is a copper rivet. The lever is functional. Lever pulled outward. Handle made from a styrene sprue. Handle in place.

A perfect use of the BMF Joe! Good decision also in removing the door handle, the new handle will add even more realism to this beautiful interior. ?

Thanks Mike! I'm very glad you like it, sometimes the simplest design can do the trick and in this case the majority of the lever system will be barely visible when the seats are in place. I had to make one anyway to make the system plausible... ?

Great tip Mike! Have you ever had the brass tube collapse on itself while wrapping it around your pattern (in this case the paint jar)? Is the rod you used as a lever only inserted a few millimeters into the end of the tube?

I totally agree with my confreres on your color choice Ray, it's gorgeous! You work really fast and the quality of your models keeps getting better and better. You seem to have a lot of fun in your hobby and it shows... The painting of the metal parts is very convincing, it looks like real metal. ?
