  1. Deepest condolences to her family.
  2. Spielberg would have a tough time recreating the chase between the 67 Mustang and 68 Charger in "Bullit" which has gone on to become the granddaddy of all car chases in Hollywood history. Real men drove real cars then. I never was a fan of rebooting classic films.
  3. I got up late for work this morning but the boss gave me pass. Things have been going cuckoo there and here at home for almost the last two weeks. Thankfully, things have slowed down quite a bit.
  4. I was at the Classic Plastic Model Car Show this morning in Lawrence Mass. and scored six built cars including a 1962 Chevy Nova rag top and a 1976 Dodge Dart both of which were very nicely done. I also took time out to check out the models that were in the contest and I was totally blown away by the details on many of them. I had a great time.
  5. My 97 Honda Accord passed the annual state safety inspection with flying colors on Friday.
  6. Just got in the mail yesterday two nice built Road Runners. One's a 1976 from MPC and the other's a 1969 from Johan. The model that I want is a 1974 Chevy Caprice by MPC which I hope to find with a vendor at The Classic Plastic model car show in Lawrence Mass. on the second of October.
  7. Survey completed.
  8. A very sweet looking build Dave. And welcome aboard. Lots of good folks here.
  9. He was one of the very first anchors at CNN when the network broke ground as the first to bring cable news to the masses way back in 1980. He was heavily involved in the reporting of the 1991 Persian Gulf War or "Operation Desert Storm" in the conflict's opening hours.
  10. It was the Fake Out Mustang that introduced me to the hobby back around 1974 or 1975. The last 50 years just flew on by.
  11. I'll be at the event on 10/2/22. It's going down at the Elks Lodge In Lawrence Massachusetts from 8AM to 3PM. I hope to meet fellow modelers from Eastern Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire who are members of this site there. Also, I hope to find from the vendors two rare plastic gems from MPC that have eluded me for years. A 1968 Dodge Coronet convertible with the old U Haul style trailer and a 1974 Chevrolet Caprice 2 Dr.
  12. Friday was the last day for the summer day camp that my company has a contract with and I've been driving around in my school bus for the last couple of months. I'm on vacay all next week and then school starts a week from Monday. Until then, I'll be kicking back while my school bus will be in the shop for some much maintenance.
  13. I attended the show myself once back around 04 or 05. I scored some nicely built vintage model cars at fair prices such as a bronze painted 1965 Caddy and a red 1963 Plymouth Fury both by Johan. I still have the Caddy but I sold off the Fury and the other cars a decade later when I was in a bit of a money pinch.
  14. Thank you Jim. It's less that 30 minutes up I-93 from my house.
  15. Would any modeler in the New England area know of any model car shows that are upcoming in the Fall especially in Eastern Massachusetts or Southern New Hampshire or both? I looked online and wound up batting zero. OPPS! If a Mod sees this, can it be moved to the "Contest & Show" column? My bad. ?
  16. You have a point. With my personal debt just about paid off, I have some cash to burn and it won't be long before the buying bug bites me again.
  17. Both are builds that I on E Bay and price wise, they were surprisingly reasonable.
  18. It's model rated but I finally got two vintage car models in the mail just a short time ago and I've been after both for a while. They're a Johan 1968 Chrysler 300 minus the tires and an AMT 1972 GMC Stepside pickup. Both are well covered in dust but will get a bath soon. A visit to my tire bin will yield new shoes for the Chrysler. My collection is now complete.
  19. It's getting off to a great start.
  20. She graced the bridge of the Enterprise with style and class. RIP Nichelle.
  21. Walter Koeing who played navigator Chekov is still around.
  22. A thunderstorm came though early Sunday evening and displaced the hot and humid weather that was hanging around here in the Boston Metro Area for the last few days with much cooler and drier temps. Today is much more pleasant and we got some much needed rain to boot. It's time to go cruising.
