  1. Well Steve, I think most of us on here echo your sentiment. And by the way, I tried some of that black foil a couple years ago (I still have almost a whole sheet) and yep it is terrible. If I remember, when I burnished it the black started coming off. Trash!!
  2. Ha, and now I have an issue getting the headlight bezels to fit. I seem to remember someone who built one in the past have the issue and said to fit and install them beforre painting. But of course, it's not what I did. Ohhh well?
  3. I think it polishes well, just can't get too aggressive with any abrasive polish. I actually brushed on the Future a bunch of coats and it covered it. It didn't self level the brush strokes too well but as the saying goes, it is what it is. There will be no pictures of that area??
  4. Sorry about not feeling well. Have you used much of the Createx? I like how their pearls look.
  5. It's too bad Nascar had gotten to where it is. Been a lot years since I watched a race much less enjoyed them when I did. What are these cars, who are these drivers? And why is it even called Nascar anyway??
  6. Wow Glen, that is really sharp, nice work there?
  7. OK Steven, how did you mask it to get those narrow stripes, you didn't show us Buddy?
  8. The color and paint look good, what paint is it....I always want to know what people use. And why just the flipper and not the rest of the car??
  9. Nice work on that one Michael. I'm pretty sure I read once when they raced those '59's, The rear "wings" on the actually lifted the rear up at high speed. Anyone else know that??
  10. I was doing just fine with the polishing compound until I saw a spot I thought might need a little extra work and this is what happened?
  11. Man Joakim, your '67 is coming out great. ?
  12. I don't know how I missed this one. Wow, that is a fantastic looking car Steve, and the detail, just WOW!!!!!!!??
  13. ?What Mike C said. I have all 3 size pens and none of them do what they did for the first few months. The redil bottle works for me.
  14. Cool build there David. Man back in '60 that car would get a lotmof attention. Very nice?
  15. Ditto what Bob said. I polish before foiling so as to not damage the foil. I wipe down the area with alchohol before foiling and this new cr*p foil still doesn't stick.
  16. Two is tops for me, way too confusing...... Oh but wait, I have the'57 Flip hood, the '87 T'bird almost done and now the '62 Catalina in early progress!!
  17. This is where I cut mine. It cuts pretty easily with a sharp blade
  18. Thanks Atin, I do have the paint finished and the red stripe around the body almost done. It's getting there.
  19. I never considered Tamiya acrylics as opposed to craft acrylics. I also never even considered spraying MM acrylics when they were available. One issue for me is I'm limited to HL or online for something like Tamiya and as for online, I just hate paying rediculous shipping therefore increasing the price of an item. It's the retired old man in me I guess??
  20. Good points Dave, to each his own huh!!
  21. Yep, we just can't help ourselves?
  22. Oh it did match before the paint on the flipper crazed after I had the body finished.
  23. As if buying all we need to do our modelling isn't enough, now a dehydrator too?? When will it end??
  24. You nailed that Steve....you are inspiring me to build one but as I know it's an old kit and I can't just go to my local HL to get it. I did bit of a search to find a '68 Coronet RTto no avail. If anyone see's one please let me know. A very good friend of my wife back in the day owned a black one (bought new). His Dad owned the most famous Speed Shop in New Orleans and of course he had access to all the good stuff. If I remember he put Cragers on it.
