You are so right. Just checked it...only thing that would need to be done would be to cut off the front fender wells on the '67 chassis.

Thanks Larry, Rusty, David and Michelle. I'm still kinda upset I didn't get the rear down lower but I know if I try to correct it I'll probably screw else up in the process. And of course, the pictures reveal a few issues I'm not happy with. Well onward with my '55 Chevy build. Thanks again?

I'm hoping so, if I can get it right it should be.

Finally finished this project. I did detail paint the underside but heck, it's just an AMT undercarriage with moulded in exhaust and suspension and largely out of scale driveshaft. So not posting any boring picture of it. Paint is Deco Art Craft Extreme Metallic , cleared with Rusto acrylic laquer. The hood is the custom hood from the '67 convertable model. It required a whole lot of work to get it to look in my opinion presentable. I had to add strips on one side and the rear to lengthen and widen it. Still not a great fit but best I could do. Keen eyes will see the side vents in the fender replicate the Grand Sport. I modded the exhaust outlets also, just my idea. I really wanted a lower overall stance but failed with my effort. Anyway, here goes with some pictures: I took many more pictures but enough is enough right?!! Thanks for looking and I welcome any suggestions and/or cricicisms.

Most Involved Part of Building?
TransAmMike replied to JollySipper's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Also an issue I have. I've spend many minutes looking for an item that has magically dissappeared!!!!!!? And here I thought I was the only one who did that. -
Worked today on the so so good fitting resin hood, biggest issue being too narrow. I decided to position it for a good fit on one side. In the first picture you can see the gap between the hood passenger side fender: So I added a strip of Evergreen sheet to the one side: After trimming off the excess, filing and sanding this is the result: Not perfect but much better.

Custom parts and decals

Well let me know. I did the '79 (because I owned one) but put American Tumbler 5-spokes because it's what I had on my real one. -

Looks to be very nice quality. I'll be hoping to see what you do with the "snowflakes". Thinking avout it for the '70 T/A i'm gonna do. -
Geez Kyle, so sorry for your loss. The wife and I have had sooooo many pups (We never call them dogs) several into their senior years and the loss is always heart wrenching. Get another puppy......it helps!!

Nice color Tom and thanks for your comments on my '55. Oh, and I like the black spokes with the chrome rim.

Thanks "Mile High" ajd JC. My first attempt at any chassis mod. Thanks Chaz. Thanks Tom. It is a cool kit but the moulded in single exhaust is something I couldn't live with and I wanted really wide rear tires. I'm a bigger '57 Chevy fan so will be looking for your build as well.

I know you kid Thomas. Actually since I really have very little experience with "cut and paste", it was a fairly simple process.

I'm not a low rider fan but your work on that Micah is impressive. Beautiful job on all the painting.

I don't do much WIP threads as I think my builds are pretty basic stuff but thought I'd give this build a try. The AMT '55 kit. I prepped the body to get any flaws out of the casting, scribed around the trunk and doors and removed the emblems. The first primer coat (Stynylrez) went on well but revealed that I still need to do more touchup. I'm gonna put this hood on it I determined that the '66 Nova Pro Mod tubbed chassis is almost a perfect fit on the'55 with just a bit of work to the front section. This is a picture of the Nova chassis without the mods. Made a cut as seen in the pictures to remove the front "forks" (for lack of a better term) Same for the '55 chassis Installed the "forks" from the '55 to the Nova chassis Top Bottom Test fit to the body Thats it for now!! Thanks for looking and any suggestions and comments appreciated.
