The wheels and tires were inspired by a hot rod I saw rumbling down the street in North Platte, Nebraska as wife and I were traveling across the country a couple years ago. Thanks for looking and commenting.

Thanks Ken! I've got some more builds on the bench and a few on the shelf that need photographing.

I found the fit and finish of the kit to be a "challenge"🤪 but ultimately I got to a point where I could call it done. Thanks for looking and commenting.

Wow, what a ride this little gem would provide! You definitely accomplished the mission of combining brawn and beauty.

I can hear this one rumbling down the boulevard on a Friday night! That stance is all business and ready to rock'n'roll. Love it.

The details in this model really set it apart. Visually this is one of my all time favorite Ferrari and you've done a great job representing it.

The well known amt 1925 Ford Model T Chopped T. This one has been in and out of the box multiple times but finally a few months ago I brought it to a conclusion. For awhile the body was seeing service as a paint mule when I was kind of frustrated with the fit and finish of the original kit. Ultimately, if memory serves, the paint on it now is Testors enamel thinned with cheap lacquer thinner. I stripped chrome off the suspension components which made the parts a bit easier to assemble without the heavy handed rough chrome plating that was on them. The seats are out of the old parts box and at the moment I can't recall where I sourced the flathead. Not the cleanest build but I'm reasonably satisfied with the results considering the challenges this kit provides. I've been mostly lurking here for the past few years enjoying great information and builds posted on this site. Today I dug out the photography equipment with the idea of posting images of some of my builds and making more of a contribution to this site. More to come in the not too distant future.

MR. COLOR LEVELING THIINER
Andrew McD replied to Andrew McD's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Yep, also haven't been able to find the Mr. Surfacer Black 1500........I think they are both excellent products and apparently so do many others if it sells out so quickly. Thanks for your insights. -

I followed your lead and ordered a 400mL bottle of MLT from BJ Hobby today. They accepted the order and my payment through PayPal. We'll see what happens. Thanks for your comments and info. When I first started using the airbrush I made an effort to use Createx products but had so many problems with tip dry, orange peel and all the other painting issues that a neophyte to the process experiences. I may revisit Createx as I have gone from being a disaster with the airbrush and rattle cans to being almost competent. The few models that I painted successfully with Createx came out looking pretty good though it was usually a matter of luck rather than skill resulting in a lack of repeatability. -
I have been trying to replenish my stock of MR.COLOR LEVELING THINNER and it seems to currently be not available in the USA. There are numerous eBay offers of the product but they are all overseas with shipping costs that double the cost of the product. Does anybody have any insight as to why the product is currently unavailable in the USA?

Just a Street Racing Street Freak Gasser Vette

Only just ran across this thread today. Very cool and imaginative build. Love reading all the details on how you accomplished much of what you've done; very useful stuff. The bit of street for a base is excellent! -
Another excellent tip/tutorial Greg. Thank you for you many contributions!

Looks great. Love the paint!

Hot Rod! Enough said on my part, you said it all with this build. Very cool!
-
Fun and well done. One cool hot rod!

This will be a fun one to follow. I have a similar build approach in mind as there are lots of parts in the junkyard just gathering rust.
-
Very nice looking hot rod, super clean build!

Got to love such a well built Coba! You're a proper snake charmer.

Very nice build! I have this one and ran into problems with the exhaust pipes, there was absolutely no way I could get them to route out from under the hood and down through the fender......just wouldn't fit no matter what I tried. You've made it work so obviously I just completely missed something about how they fit in place. My kit was also missing the windshield and windshield frame which surprised me as it was a sealed box.
