  1. Thanks Robert. Next time I want to do foil under paint for the fender emblems. I also felt the "427" numerals could have been better. Thank you Michelle, James and Donato. Thanks Hanjo, Chris, and Darbo. Yeah, it's a nicely detailed kit that's a pleasure to build. Thanks Tom, Jeff and David. I thought the Hurst wheels would be a nice change. Thanks David and Mario. It's slightly darker than Marina Blue which I always thought looked best on these cars. And it's definitely a matter of catching the sun at just the right angle. Thanks L M, Lee, David and Jeremy.
  2. A few more at sunset.....
  3. Built from the current reissue this 1/25 scale '67 Impala SS-427 has been painted in Tamiya TS-54 Metallic Blue and cleared with TS-13. The Hurst wheels, sprayed with a couple coats of Tamiya smoke, are from the Revell '66 GTO since the chrome was less than stellar on the kit wheels. And I managed to install the wiper blades in the proper order this time.
  4. Paint color and clear is looking beautiful. Are you applying the Tamiya clear in light or heavier coats? Just curious because I've had the best success with Tamiya clear applying it in light coats over Tamiya TS paints. I have a couple of these kits and following this topic am definitely looking forward to building them.

Very nice build in a great color. Looks very similar to Bahama Blue.

Great looking build Anders. That is one of my favorites from the old AMT promo style kits.
  7. Excellent work and I've never tried Coral Blue yet. I'll have to get a can.
  8. That is a truly beautiful build and excellent interior detailing.
  9. Thanks Samuel and Donato. It's a very nice kit that's a pleasure to build.
  10. Superb example of this kit. Nice work on the block lettering at the edge of the hood.
  11. Great restoration and interesting back story. And thanks for posting the vintage magazine and article.
  12. Spectacular work as always and I'm really impressed with the Mr Super Clear Gloss and the Tamiya paints used on the seats.
  13. Thanks Rastislav and David G
  14. The color combinations look very good on a pair of very nice builds..
  15. Great engine compartment detailing and color choice Jim.
  16. Thanks Carl, great to see you back.
  17. That is fine looking! Great work..
  18. That is very nice build of an excellent kit.
  19. Very sharp looking build Ken, and Testors has had some nice shades of red.
  20. Thanks Trevor, for me there's been a bit of a learning curve with the Dupli-Color paints but I do like the look they provide.
  21. Thanks Eric, I was uncertain how to properly detail the Pontiac Rally II wheels. Don't think I did them entirely correct but I'm satisfied with the result.
  22. Thanks Jeremy, they do build up nicely and I never get tired of building them.
  23. Thanks Adam, I spend a good deal of time wet sanding the final coat of clear on my models. Some modelers can lay it down smooth but not me.
  24. Thanks Mathias, I've built a few of these and aligning the nose to the body takes the most care and consideration.
  25. Thanks Donato, I just try to be more patient with each build and particularly the small details.
