Built from the Foose kit this 1/25 scale '65 Impala SS has been painted in Tamiya TS-21 Gold and cleared with TS-13. I left the vertical grill pieces darkened to create a more horizontal theme as it's a look I've always liked and correct on the '67 Impala SS. First time building this kit and aside from having to flex the front glass in slightly while the glue set I didn't encounter any significant fitment issues. I lost one of the turn signal lamps while installing it in the lower grill and replaced both with cut pieces of clear lay film which was painted clear orange. I hadn't noticed the engraved "Turbo-Jet" vee-flags prior to painting the body but realized it when I went to install the "Turbo-Fire" 409 decals. I went ahead with the decals and while it's not that noticeable I'll have to decide on my next build (picked up two of these kits upon completion) whether to pre-foil the engraving or sand it off and use the 409 decals. Even though the engine appears to be the 396 mid year replacement. I've got to be more careful with those small details.

Very clean build and that TS-92 is a great color that works on cars from a variety of eras.

Top notch build and a great color choice for that era vehicle.

That's is really sharp. Great work.

Paint and decal work look great. The detailing on the instrument panel also stands out nicely.

That's a sharp looking color on that '65 and I really like the dog dish hubcaps. Those aren't in the Foose kits that I have though.

Excellent paint and detail work. And nice job coordinating the interior blue with the Marina Blue exterior. I find sometimes that matching similar colors is not always easy to do.

Exceptional paint job. The modern wheels work well with the vintage car.

While I've heard mixed reviews on this kit I've also seen excellent completed examples. Thought I'd give it a shot.

I like it. I don't ever recall seeing a scale second generation Firebird with a vinyl top. I'm also watching.

No matter how many times I look at the pictures it still looks as though I'm viewing the 1:1. Superb work and flawless paint. I've never used a black base over Mica Red but will have to experiment since I really like the color you've produced.

Great looking build and impressive work on the modifications. That paint work on the chassis is really cool.

Occasionally I see these on ebay but they are quite rare as mentioned. Are those plastic tires in that bag?

Great looking builds David and all with very nicely detailed engine compartments. The two tone treatment on the Chevelle interior looks great. Glad to hear your vision was restored with a successful surgery.

Definitely a stunning looking build from the pictures. I like how you list what issues were presented during the build. Makes a nice reference especially when building the same model in the future.

Impressive looking build and the custom wheels and lowered stance work very well. Minwax urethane clear is one I haven't heard of before on a scale model and it worked beautifully.

Definite wow factor when looking at the pictures with the paint and detailing work. Great work Eric.

What a great collection. That '66 Riviera is so sleek looking and that '74 Plymouth with a look that captured the era perfectly is my favorite of the group.

When not building scale models my other hobby is cabinetmaking and I find what you've said to be very true. Especially when building face frames and cope and stick doors.

Great looking Chevelle with excellent decal work. I'm finishing up the '69 and the rear bumper fitment is also challenging. Just checked Tamiya's website and unfortunately it appears this great looking color has been discontinued.

Great looking model builds and some of the best dioramas I've seen yet.

Steve H’s 3 for 2022, plus my first diorama (not very productive this year…)

Great looking builds and I remember the parking lot diorama. Serves as an excellent example of that type of work. -
Excellent work on a highly detailed build.

Happy New Year to the forum members and guests. I agree with Greg that the last few years have truly been an educational journey in scale model building.
