  1. I don't understand. He is selling it for $24.75, about what the average model kit is selling for at my LHS. Plus, iirc, he includes free shipping. On top of that, isn't Lindberg either stagnant, if not outright out of business? If you had that kit to sell, what would you honestly sell it for? As for me, I don't FeeBay, so I'm just curious. Everyone wants a deal... until they become the seller. And who can blame them?
  2. So often photographed, but to find that photo... at that angle... nope. Or did I? I am going with "Real".
  3. Both look great!
  4. Have a great Birthday, Chuck!
  5. It's a British TV production, with British hosts, that filmed an episode here in the states, primarily for BBC audience (tho also shown here). So what does US Constitutional Protection have to do with it?
  6. Diggin' the wide whites! Manx is versitile enough to be a boulevard cruiser.
  7. PRIORITIES “That’s not fair! Not all of us can afford to spend that kind of money just for a hobby item!” …said the man at the register line holding a case of beer, and a carton of Marlboros.
  8. One of our own needs help. Jackie Cheyenne Whitecloud is unique, in that she is one of us. She loves cars, and she builds models. I have never met her in person, nor do I recall ever having a two-way communication with her. I do however remember her from her posts over at Spotlight board, back in the days it was called Hobby Heaven. Recently, Jackie has reached out to others in the hobby. She is in trouble. She seems like she may be a trusting and kind hearted soul, and sadly may have been taken advantage of. As a result, her world has crashed down around her. She has apparently lost everything; her home, her ex-squad car Crown Vic, her personal belongings, her money, and God knows what else. Dean Milano has said that she has now lost her food stamps. She has stated she may harm herself. Several of us in this hobby want to help her out, but at this time, we cannot even reach her. Jackie was more active on the Spotlight board than here. If you go to their message board, type here name into their search engine, but not the “find members” feature, use the “Messages containing any following key words”. Messages Containing Any of the Keywords: jackie, cheyenne, whitecloud Here is a link to Dean’s post over on Spotlight: http://wwwboard.spotlighthobbies.com/index.pl?read=1764214 Here is my idea: because she has expressed a desire to end life, can we ask the Modesto, Ca. police for help? The last time Jackie posted in the MCMB was in 2007. Below is a link to that post. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=7002&st=20&p=49144&hl=+jackie%20+cheyenne%20+whitecloud&fromsearch=1&#entry49144
  9. The die-cast BTTF's are still out there. I took this pic at a LHS a few months ago.
  10. Use the link you provided. Just make sure there is nothing to the LEFT of the http, and nothing to the right of jpg
  11. A '49 Linc! That is nice. How much jingle will it set me back? DO luv Lincolns!
  12. Poor ol' Roscoe! Nice, creative build there!
  13. YEAHHH! That's about the pillar of kewl! .
  14. Exactly why I have a Fotki account. And, I have more than just models there, for that same reason.
  15. WoW! Your imagination knows no bounds! That is amazing!
  16. Wow! I see there is a certain theme in the responses!
  17. I think it is real.
  18. Bart, what do you mean by "I've been in B.F. Egypt for over 2 years now"? I don't understand, your info says you are in Texas. As for using a computer, why not use (and get to know) one at a nearby library?
  19. Why not just put it aside for now, and try the test of time? Who knows, you just may want to get back into it later on.
  20. I would do exactly what you are planning to do. Should look great.
  21. Sometimes, that "Murphy" can be such a jerk! Sorry for your spat of bad luck. Maybe it was just bad luck? I would think the overspray would chase them little buggers off... but who knows? I used to spray outdoors, and yeah, that has happened to me as well. But at least it was the exception. I used to spray off the edge of the deck, then walk back inside between coats. Verrry careful not to kick up dust, works best when no one else was home. So, a lose part blew off? Can you attach them to something with weight? When I spray, I use a stand made from the old style cloths hanger, with the cardboard tube removed. Dremel off the tip of the hook, and spread the two wires to form "feet". A nice, heavy vice grip forms the third leg of the tri pod paint stand. Can you use a vice grip to weigh down the base?
  22. Dave, glad you are back! I like your "Fail to quit" outlook! If you feel like you're hitting the bottom, cheer up! Things can only go back up from there!
