"Customer states..."
Tabbysdaddy replied to Ace-Garageguy's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yea I watch those. Some of them remind me of the purse on the choke lever story you told. -
The stepside is the most recently reissued after the two fleetside versions. Has it really been a few years? It seems like not too long ago I got mine from Hobby Lobby.

The side mirrors are separate pieces, so is the front roll pan. No stock bumpers included. Funny thing, it's very similar and at the same time very different from the wrecker truck. Like they copied it and made modifications or there might be a separate insert for it.

I like the Revell '76, even though it's inaccurate. My older Hot Rod version had a lot less flash than the newer release I have, hopefully they do something about that. I don't remember any problems with the front axle, mine's still supporting the truck. It does have those two piece tires though, but it has a bench seat.

I can't wait to see more of that Bonneville. -
I don't see your point. If they said some day we'd all carry computers in our pocket they would be right also. When was a map to the destination required?

What did you see on the road today?

I used to like looking for Teslas, sort of like slug bug without the slug. Now it's like looking for pickups, they’re all over. -
I get most of my parts from AutoZone. Mostly because it's easy to do warranty exchanges. My vehicles are warrantied by AutoZone. I don't have to buy parts too often anymore, I've replaced most of them already. I also have a lot of spare used parts. I blew the head gaskets on my truck and cracked a head two weeks ago, ruined the flywheel starting the engine with water in the cylinders. I didn't have to buy a head or flywheel. My other truck the radiator failed internally and put water in the transmission, that is warrantied from Advance and it won't be here until Monday.

1973' Chevrolet El Camino
Tabbysdaddy replied to Sergey's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
This is very cool, but no shock would be mounted to the backing plates. -
Lots of pickup trucks had a gas tank right behind the seat and without modern safety design. This looks much safer than those. Looks cool so far.

Reissued kits
Tabbysdaddy replied to slantasaurus's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I would buy it because it's a van, but would prefer something closer to stock. The Ford Econoline at least is closer to stock than those. -
That's cool. I want one to build my mothers old 'Vette.

I would be interested in the fuel injected version to build my 87. With a 5 speed. -
When I delete a quote it deletes the text, then I have to click outside the quote box again to delete the box too.
