  1. Thanks Chaz. Thanks Carl.
  2. Ok, got the tires ready. Going with plain black rims with whitewalls. Also used the decals on the seat and interior panels. The last 29 I built I tried using the decals but messed them up. They came out good this time, I used some Testors Decal Set I picked up at HL. Seems to work ok, smells like vinegar, wonder if I could make my own mix.
  3. Thanks Carl. I'm getting there. Thank you Joe.
  4. Ok, got some decals on the body and interior panels. Engine is done and installed into the frame.
  5. Thanks Chaz. Thanks Carl.
  6. Looks great. Nice work.
  7. Looking great. Very nice. My favorite year Chevelle. I have the kit in my stash. I'm watching.
  8. I painted mine with a airbrush, first time doing a camo paint job. Came out ok, but needs improvement.
  9. Engine looks good. I'll be watching as I have this kit in my stash and hope to start on it soon. 51 is my birth year and I remember my Dad having this car when I was just a little squirt.
  10. I just built my first plane. It was the Airfix 1/72 scale P-40 Tomahawk. Found out quickly 1/72 is too small. I was gifted an Academy 1/35 AH-1Z Viper helicopter for Christmas, it looks to be a very nice kit. Lots of detail and comes with PE fret parts and even has the mask pieces already cut for the canopy. I also picked up a Revell 1/48 P-51D kit at HL, the P-51 is my favorite also. Next kit I buy will probably be Tamiya as I have heard they are some really great kits.
  11. Engine is about ready, need to wire the plugs, install pulleys and headers. Got some paint on interior parts, Tamiya X-71 Cockpit Green.
  12. Looks like it took some skills, and a lot of patience IMO. I admire you guys that can do that stuff, but I would be out of my comfort zone trying it right now.
  13. Thanks Carl. I appreciate that.
  14. That's cool. That type weathering is beyond my ability.
  15. Thanks Joe. Thank you. Thanks Mike. It was a fun build.
  16. Taking a break from car models I decided to try a military plane. I chose this one because it looked simple and it was cheap. I have since found out that 1/72 scale is too small for me, bad eyes and shaky hands. It came out ok I guess but needs improvement. I need to improve my camo painting. I did try to weather it a little but need to improve that also. The canopy was so small I couldn't mask it and tried just hand painting it, didn't turn out good and I couldn't get it to sit right on the plane. I have a 1/35 Academy AH-!Z Viper helo I got for a christmas gift and also a Revell 1/48 P-51D. I'll decide which one I'll tackle next after I finish a 29 Ford Model A Roadster I'm working on. All comments welcome, and thanks for looking.
  17. Ok, I'm calling it done. Came out ok I guess, needs improvement. I certainly will be moving up in scale. Thanks for all the comments. Putting a couple of photos under glass.
  18. Going with Tamiya X-26 Deep Green.
  19. Thanks Bob, that's what I had in mind.
  20. This will be my first auto build for 2023. Already have 2 on the shelf. Thinking of going with some type of green on this one, maybe a military color.
  21. Looking good Bob. Love the paint.
