History of AMT
Casey replied to Nick Notarangelo's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Does anybody recall which issue this was? I can think of at least one person who would be a worthy contributor to such a project. Back on topic, was this shot taken at AMT's Birmingham, MI headquarters? -

I'll wait until they hit the discount circuit. The Cragar S/S wheels look decent (maybe even good?) and you know Round2 is including a set of "new" tires, too. There are some interesting body lines, too, so you can always use bits and pieces for a custom, or start with the Tiger Shark body and go from there.

GM A bodies with a bench seat
Casey replied to junkyardjeff's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The 1/25 Revell '66 Chevelle Wagon kit includes a bench seat: -
It was rubber band powered, right? Was it the same stand as found in the MPC 1965 Dodge Monaco kit, as in the same one which migrated from the Monaco to the Tiger Shark?

Just the '57 Fantasy Parts Pack, so...kinda? I watch them to see which kits Autoworld still has on the racks behind Chad, really. Between Round2's facebook and Instagram pages, and other online retailers, the info about which kits are coming and what they contain is usually available before these monthly videos.

What did you see on the road today?
Casey replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
The boxy shape, white paint, and still wearing the stock wheel covers? What's not to love? My eyes are instantly drawn to the door bottoms to check for tell-tale signs of rust...#midwestproblems -

I love that something that old (Revell Attempt 1 body buck) is being transported by something equally as old. This is exactly what it's all about, right there. Good on both of you, for the benefit of us all.

I have no problem with anyone purchasing kits and reselling them for a profit. It's the "RARE" statement which is dishonest, for lack of using words which wouldn't pass the automatic censor. If someone thinks they can sell a turd of a kit for $30 which didn't sell for $16 in a store, well... Looking at the kits which were cleared out, they're the kits which most of us would thought "Why is Round2 reissuing THAT kit!???" when first reissued.

Round2 has preliminary release for the 1/25 scale MPC Tiger Shark kit, so pending further info and finalized box art, I thought it'd be a good idea to get the ball rolling, so to speak. It's an interesting car with an asymmetrical design, and though the Tiger Shark is a re-work of the earlier Car Craft Dream Rod, this kit is likely all that is left...so enjoy it. I suspect Round2 will be including the same pad printed Firestone tires found in the recently reissued Barris Ice Cream Truck and Tansy Vending Machine kits to match the redlines on the real car, but otherwise expect a cleaned-up version of the RC2 reissue. Previous topic of the same TS/CCDR: Good article covering the history of both the Car Craft Dream Rod and Tiger Shark: http://customrodder.forumactif.org/t1428-car-craft-dream-rod-bill-cushenbery

Chad's back!

It's white glue, so easy to pick out as there is very little bond strength-- just enough to keep it in place. Stab it with a pin or needle, pry a tiny bit, and out it should come.

I'm a big fan of Sean's work. Good news, indeed.

I'm betting we'll see it reissued within the next year or so. -

Even easier to use white glue then, IMHO. You can control the size of the "drop" easily, and thin the glue a bit with water as necessary, too. Allow it to flow into the hole, and allow surface tension to have the glue "stick" to the walls/side of the hole/depression.
