  1. .005" is probably too thin to retain its shape. You don't want any visible waves or it will kill the look entirely. Look into mobile/tablet device screen protectors, which I pick up on the cheap at Goodwill. The unpackaged screen protector shown in the foreground below measures .019" thick, and they come with plastic protection in both sides, so you can (hopefully) keep it scratch free as you cut it to size, and you can leave the outside covered until after you apply the smoke tint, too:

  3. Yes, and I would say the best. The 1/25 Revell kit is excellent, and has been going strong for 30 years now. Here's a comparison topic if you are interested in the other available 1/25 '69 Camaro kits:

  5. Let's keep in mind the blurry image is merely a placeholder for one website, so even if the pictured built model is a 1/25 Revell '81 Z28, we are supposed to be getting the 1/24 Monogram '79 Z28, per James' comments in August when he reported from the IPMS event in Vegas: "So first up on the 4 kits just added to the Revell German site. The "1981" Camaro is in fact the venerable Monogram 1979 Camaro 3n1 kit, last released in 2011." Not sure why Revell-AG removed the images and content they had up a few months ago, but let's just say the web side of Revell has some room for improvement. It would help alleviate much confusion and speculation from interested potential customers. The 1/24 Monogram isn't terrible, and at least looks like a '79 Z/28 Camaro. Stock version doesn't look half bad, either:
  6. Sure hope those aren't the front tires they'll be including in the kits...đŸ˜Ŧ
  7. Revell Germany is releasing both the 1/16 BMW Isetta 250 and VW Type 2 Panel Van in some type of Coca-Cola livery/packaging, but I haven't seen any official images yet, just preliminary...which I won't post. They currently have this 3D puzzle out:
  8. Not necessarily. If there is space available inside the mold base and the 5-slot wheels are a separate insert, they could be included.
  9. Saw that at my local Meijer store a few days ago. 10% đŸ˜ŗ Enjoy. 😁 đŸģ
  10. The wheels shown were never included in the '79 Z/28 2'n1, the fender vents are no longer the louvered '79 style (but rather the open vent style), and there are wheel spats in front of the rear wheels, which apparently didn't start until 1980. I don't think this is the 1/24 ex-Monogram '79 we are familiar with. The 1/25 Revell CHiPs Camaro looks the closest to the built up model shown, especially the slightly too large tires.
  11. While I have seen a handful of 1/16 Revell F/C tires deformed, I have yet to find one which has melted. The rear slicks were molded with relatively thin (much thinner than other scale slicks) sidewalls, so that may have been a major factor in their eventual collapse, too. I think it was Ed Sexton who told me the place in Japan where Revell had these tires molded (presumably the same place since the early '70s when the 1/16 scale F/Cs debuted) was destroyed by the Great Tohoku Earthquake in 2011, so the 2014 Hawaiian Charger F/C reissue had all-new tires which were molded in China. As for Revell semi-soft tires holding up over time, I doubt it can be explained by one issue or phenomenon, so what may have caused the total failure of one set may have left another set unscathed. Maybe it's just luck, too, but don't assume the tires in your kit are now useless-- check them to be sure. Here are pics I took today of the Mikey Thompson Baja King tires included in the 1/16 Revell Chevy Off-Road Pickup kit (and it's later modified reissues), which was released in 1979. The first image is of the four tires still "sealed" (with two small staples) in the original bag: They are still in good nick, fortunately. I have another set from a built model I bought a decade ago, not nearly in the same condition, unfortunately. I'll take and add some images tomorrow.

  13. A (blurry) image of the forthcoming 1/24 (originally Monogram) "1981" (should be the '79?) Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 reissue: Tires look a bit too chunky/tall, no?
  14. Pic of the forthcoming 1/25 Revell '69 Camaro SS 396 with an all-new SS hood with separate faux louvers, newly tooled "SS" nameplate for the grille, and the dog dish style wheel covers and steel wheels from the previous C.O.P.O. release:
  15. Same here, but, I can see how others would be interested in the scoop and intake options. Maybe we shouldn't rule things out until the kit debuts, but I am a bit less hopeful now.
  16. This image bodes poorly for the 5-slot wheels being included. ☚ī¸
  17. How much room is there inside the crate with an actual Hemi V8 positioned inside it? I never thought to try.
  18. As far as I have seen, yes, and only in the original (and maybe second?) issues. Perhaps it still exists with the other "lost" IMC Dodge A-100 parts. Nice fit inside the bed of the Datsun, JC. 😊
  19. Not sure if those are supposed to be '57 Plymouth wheel covers or not, but both have a sharp cone in the center area:

Examine the Gopher decal sheets closely-- the few I have looked at up close are kind of close, but not really the same as the 1:1 company logos they replicate. Here was the sheet I was thinking of, Mike:
