  1. Doubt it, but I recall the 2020 reissue of the 1/24 Chevy LUV seemed to be molded in a brittle(?) plastic which broke easily. Just a bit disappointing Peter asked a legit question about the kit, and couldn't get an answer:
  2. Yes, any car enthusiast picked up on that back in 1985 when Revell released a few kits under the "Saints", "Street Demons", and "Lightning Rods" sub-brands. Just another way of making old kits appears new and exciting to the general buying public. Has anyone answered the earlier question regarding the quality of the plastic in this reissue?
  3. All good. Here's the direct link to Chris' profile if you want to contact him directly: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/profile/11305-hpiguy/
  4. I think you already know the answer is very likely a no. And honestly, Atlantis doesn't need to do much above and beyond what they did for the Green Elephant kit. New decals, all-new tires and slicks, and a general cleaning up of the molds was a significant investment in a less-than-popular scale, so if all we see in the future are nearly straight reissues of previous Revell kits (like the forthcoming Jungle Jim Vega), so be it. It beats seeing only one reissued per decade.
  5. How thick is the flash between the spokes? I'm guessing to thick to cut with a sharp blade, hence the breakage. Kind of a bummer, as they are unique and different enough from the Model T wheels to catch one's eye. Good to see one of these being built, especially by someone with extensive Brass Era knowledge. Is this a recent release from Missing Link?
  6. So, is it now available from Missing Link? Seems like it is? ?‍♂️
  7. Not mine, hpiguy/Chris' build and video. ? You can ask him in the comments section below the YouTube video, or he's a member here, too, so you could PM him and ask directly. Lots of Pledge/Future Shine/Whatever it's most recent name is info here too:
  8. From Atlantis, via their facebook page: "...more 1/16 funny cars are coming. It takes time to make them, We have every body for 1/16 that Revell made including all the engine conversions and other stuff. 1/16 guys will be happy. Each release will be better than the next. The green elephant, get them while you can we will moving on to the next kit in 2022."
  9. I'm liking the tube bumpers. Make sure you test fit the "glass" semi-soonish, as there appear to be a funky thing happening at the upper right corner of the windshield opening. Maybe a mold misalignment?
  10. It was re-issued in 1996 as part of the SSP. I think it goes without saying anything with a noose, and especially a model kit, is a terrible idea, simply from a humanity standpoint.
  11. I always type (well, it usually prompts it automatically, since I use it often) site: modelcarsmag etc. directly into the address bar, then add the term I'm searching for. I don't go directly to Google, but I do use Chrome as my browser, so perhaps that accounts for some difference. Point being, please take some time to search first. It acknowledges previous contributions by forum members who took the time to craft a reply and provide information, and you still have the ability to add a reply, new information, or just smash that Like Button. ?
  12. Is this wheel truly a 16" wheel? The 1:1 wheel is a 13" wheel, and even with the added circumference when adding the trim ring, it should fall right through a 16" tire with ease. Looks like some of the details, especially the length of each raised rib, need more work, too. Note how the ribs nearly reach the trim ring on the 1:1 wheel, and how little space there is between the cooling slot and the trim ring, too:
  13. First off, are you aware you are posting in bold using the size 36 font? Second, the Google search method still works great. I use it multiple each day for this forum. Had Jeff taken the time to search, he would have seen a picture of the first issue of the stock wheels in the first Google search hit result-- exactly what he was asking to see. Instead, we now have a redundant topic, multiple people providing other info which was already discussed and posted months ago, and Jeff still has no idea how to find anything on his own. Here's the screen shot of the Google search results using: site: modelcarsmag.com monogram 40 ford pickup Click that first topic, and the first post has the exact thing he wanted to see:
  14. Spreading the LUV. ?? Content images of the Revell H-1382 River Rat (custom) Chevy LUV, mini speedboat, and trailer here: https://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/1662/revell-1382-river-chevy-trailer
  15. While it's certainly Gregg's prerogative to have whichever rules he choses, I'm just saying it would be helpful if things were clarified and, if the rules regarding posted content ("discussion") are also applicable to avatars and signature lines, enforced fairly and equally. Nobody is asking for such an extreme reaction, and I doubt anybody wants that. While we are not entitled to a clarification of the rules as they apply to avatars and signature lines, I think it would be helpful. I hope nobody is going to use a political, sexual, etc. avatar or signature line to either force the issue or try prove a point, but if they did, it would be hard to blame them when other members' avatars and/or signature lines appear to flout the rules, with no consequences for doing so.
  16. What is not clear, or at least, seems selective and incomplete, is this one: We do not allow political or religious discussions or comments. We know it can be tempting sometimes, but please don't. Why not just forbid all religious, political, sexual, etc. content entirely, including in avatars and signature lines, to ensure this forum focuses on modeling?
  17. It looks to me like the ramp truck Mickey Thompson used is very close to the forthcoming Moebius kit, but I'm sure the kit has a few details (like that pivoting engine hoist arm) taken from various sources, rather than a full-on direct copy of one ramp body.
  18. It appears The Good Stuff once offered a '32 Ford B-400 body, but I believe it was released a few years before the Revell kit debuted: Back to the '32 Ford Sedan, I took some pics of the T-133 AMT '32 Ford Tudor Sedan body with the fenders from the AMT '32 Ford Sedan radical custom, and found they fit together very well: Comparison of the interior tubs:
  19. Been wanting to compare the AMT '32 Ford Sedan with the Revell version for a few years. ?
  20. I don't think Chevrolet used a Ford bed. ? In all seriousness, I have a 1/25 Revell '41 Chevy Pickup bed on hand and it's in the ballpark, but the details do not match the bed in the above image (assuming the above image is in fact a factory piece...). I think using the bed floor piece (as I think I see alternating wood/metal strips) as a starting point would probably work, but brass tubing and sheet stock might be a better option to fabricate the rolled edges of the flare boards and tailgate. The vertical side supports on either side of the tailgate do not match what's in the '41 Chevy Pickup kit, either. The ad copy states "A separate trunklid is provided (with the pick-up conversion)..." so the bed assembly must slide in and out, then bolt in place at various points. I don't see any mounting brackets other than the lone angled bracket on the RH side.
  21. I would say late '60s, when the F/C class debuted ('69 for NHRA) when the more experimental cars/classes started to coalesce. I've seen many well funded professional teams/race outfits using them in '70-'71, as seen here: https://www.nhra.com/news/2010/ramp-trucks-yeah-we-ve-got-ramp-trucks 1969 season: 1971 season:
