  1. A few more Revell "rubber-like" tires, both 1/16 BFG All Terrain T/As and 1/25 Goodyear Wrangler Radials, all of which have fared reasonably well, save for some drying out.
  2. Are there any p/e parts included for specific use on the two tailgate latches? Here is my suggestion for chain:
  3. Maybe someone who has this kit can post an image of the actual wheels, but the included 1:25 wheels do not have the same high-positive offset like the 1:1 wheels shown on the vehicle pictured on the box:
  4. Is this the most recent reissue?:
  5. 99.9999% sure the tow truck parts will be included, as they are pictured prominently on the box top:
  6. I bookmarked that a while back after searching online for a builder who was very much ahead of his time... Copyright 99W Speed, R.H. Carroll, Lake Oswego, OR
  7. ? I would agree. Not sure why Revell created a handful unique 1/16 scale tires, then used them on only one kit or series of (very few) 1/16 scale kits.
  8. Can the pinned Google search topic be moved to this forum section? That method works great and returns great results, but is that post important and/or a priority to you and Gregg? IMHO should be much easier to find and prioritized, and would certainly help people find things they are looking for on the forum.
  9. I think the only way that happens is if Round2 decides to create an all-new '65 and/or '66 Mustang kit first. I'm 99% sure Mark B. or someone else mentioned multiple parts from the Iron Horse originally came from and are now found in the AMT '66 Mustang kit, which probably makes it too much of a hassle to bring back a one-off, oddball show car which (IMHO) lacks the cachet necessary to justify such an investment of resources.
  10. As mentioned earlier in this topic, a few companies have tried experimenting(?) with different methods and material to mold tires, but something's got to give-- literally. Either the mold itself (say, when using a silicone rubber mold) or the tire itself (see, Revell and others' "rubber-like" tires) needs to be able to flex and allow the tire to exit the mold without damaging the intricately shaped tread blocks, something which need to be done thousands of times in a production cycle. MPC tried something with it's Swamp Buggy Jeep kit, using styrene slick halves (outer and inner), then requiring the builder to glue the ends of a "Thermo rubber" tread strip together, allowing it to dry/cure (did model kit glue really work for this?), then slipping the tread piece over the circumference of the slick to create an off-road style tire...I'll let you decide if that was realistic, effective, accurate, etc. This appears to be one of the earlier attempts by MPC to mate PVC and styrene, and while they molded other parts (seating surfaces, floor mats, snowmobile seats and treads come to mind) in the same flexible vinyl material, the idea never stuck, was abandoned, and doesn't appear to have ever been attempted since. For the record I don't think this was a terrible idea, as it allowed for excellent tread block/lug detail, but the mating and blending of two very dissimilar materials seems to be the stumbling block. Maybe the more recent proliferation of water-based acrylic paints make this lees of an issue in 2022 than it was in 1970?
  11. Here is another vintage set of the Mickey Thompson Baja King tires, this set is poorer condition. Multiple factors at play I think, but as shown further below, other 1/16 Revell rubber-like tires have fared just fine. ?? Same tires, vastly different condition: 1/16 Revell Funny Car Goodyear front tires, still in good nick: Same for these 1/16 Revell T/F dragster skinnies:
  12. I think you are correct on both. Here's a Revell-Monogram release showing the parts, which I would expect to be much the same in the forthcoming reissue, but with a much improved and more expansive decal sheet:
  13. Nice. Better fix that broken saddle tank strap. ??
  14. I bet the re-issued AMT Turbine engine would fill that crate up nicely. Not sure the Datsun would be up for the hauling task, though. ?
  15. I think that particular part is loose, and just resting in that space in the above image.
  16. Yep, 'blood did it. ? Yes, it appears to be an enlarged version of their 1/25 scale Squarebody, but, we know it didn't quite work that way in 1977. Revell probably just elected not to add additional details vs. the 1/25 scale version. It's been years since I've had the 1/25 Revell Squarebody kit in hand, but, going on memory, there are some areas on the 1/16 version which are more detailed than the 1/25 version. Whether or not that equated to "better", I won't say. I built the Swamp Monster version in the '80s, and recalled it contained many of the same (i.e, stock...-ish) parts, so here's a comparison of the chrome parts from both the Swamp Monster and Off-Road Pickup kits, and you can see the inserts where the dirtbike parts originally resided and were later replaced: Off-Road Pickup chrome: Swamp Monster chrome:
  17. Perry's Resin '73-'77 Ford Maverick:
  18. The front and rear engine mount pieces are missing, but I assumed if you built the kit stock with the 273(?), you'd build the Hemi V8 separately, then place it inside the crate, then both inside the bed as a load.
  19. I believe the Suzuki dirtbike included with the H-1292 1/16 Revell Chevy Off-Road Pickup is what was later included with the 1/16 Revell Jeep kit? The number plate looks slightly different between the two, though:
  20. Content pics of the 1/16 Revell Chevy Off-Road Pickup with Suzuki Dirtbike here: https://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/1666/revell-chevy-road-pickup-suzuki A short wheelbase Chevy Scottsdale 4x4 Stepside with oversized tires, multiple aftermarket parts and accessories, and classic '70s sunrise decals, all in 1/16 scale, plus a complete bonus Suzuki dirtbike, with box artwork by Kenny Youngblood, too? ? Chris/Fabrux, are you planning a kit history for this one?
