  1. "'60s inflation" has an all-new meaning after seeing the Premier Falcon's roof.
  2. Testors Stainless Steel Buffing Metalizer?
  3. Aoshima = teasers! I would think leaving the lower engine shield off to show the bottom side of the engine would be something builders would do, but maybe not?
  4. Anybody care to guess what the Revell Fall 2013 kit releases will be, keeping in mind these are usually reissues rather than new kits? They should be announced in late May or so, going by last year's date. Lil Coffin' Red Baron? Fast Buck? (Two Tom Daniel's kits every six months seems to be the norm) 1/16 Kenworth W-900 Conventional?
  5. Is that typical/normal/usual of Aoshima kits which include and engine to not include a full/complete engine, excluding curbside kits?
  6. Are they planning to include the bottom 1/3 of the engine, or will the third issue include a full engine?
  7. If AMT can release a kit of a compact towing a trailer, why can't Premier?
  8. Very true, but I think we're all at least a little bit guilty of not being 100% receptive to criticism, and much of the time our reaction depends upon how it is delivered, and by whom. "It takes a great man to give sound advice tactfully, but a greater to accept it graciously." - Logan P. Smith
  9. You like '33/4 Fords, Greg, don't you?
  10. Those are really neat. Kind of look like a mish-mash of the C-series and the later square style cabs.
  11. I've noticed that on some builds, especially where detail painting is done on two neighboring parts. While many of us have an interest in real vehicles and some have spent time working on real vehicles, becoming familiar with how things work, where parts are located, how they function, and what their relationship is to other parts, some people do not have that same knowledge and experience to call upon when building a scale model. Smaller details, such as how brake lines are routed from the brake master cylinder to each brake cylinder/caliper, are something people like to add for a little extra detail, but it's simply not possible to run a hard brake line from a frame to a brass junction block bolted to the top of a rearend housing with some allowance for movement. On a real car, a flexible rubber line spans the distance, but if the builder has never stuck her/his head up under a vehicle and looked at the braking system, s/he would probably not have any idea how to properly replicate such a detail...and this goes back to Rob's "Walk, Then Run" mentality. AMT, Revell, Tamiya, et al have produced some really nice kits over the last twenty years, and if you follow the basic steps of prep and construction, you'll end up with a really nice model without needing to add spark plug wires, carb linkage, and carpet flocking. Once you've removed or filled every ejector pin mark, removed every mold seam (including the seam on the top of the radiator), and attached all clear parts without leaving any sign of what you used to attach them, move on to more challenging details. You'll already have the basics mastered, and you'll be happier with the end results.
  12. Never mind the C-series, I just want some slagroomijs. What is the H-type? I don't think I've ever seen on of those.
  13. No, you're right. A Pro/Street car should have treaded street tires as most of Revell's kits included, but for whatever reason the P/S AMT '66 Nova always contained slicks. The Revell '67 Chevelle P/S kit is probably the easiest current kit to find with treaded (M/T Sportsmans IIRC) tires.
  14. None, but the more recent versions of the 1/24 scale '69 Camaro Z/28 kit has two.
  15. That's not AMT's kit built up you see, it's Revell's die-cast kit, and is the basis for the "new" 1/25 scale plastic kit from Revell.
  16. Where to even begin on this one...Patriot sidepipes, bumper(!?!) ornaments, european style rear fog lamp, the now-classic bullet hole stickers, the handmade fender skirts, and a whip antenna? 10-4 good buddy, indeed.
  17. Would you, could you post that list, pretty please? And is this wholesale or retail?
  18. I would suggest you wait for the Revell '70 Hemi Cuda kit to arrive later this year.
  19. People can still copy them when they're posted in places like here on the forum, they just can't directly view them in your album.
  20. When did they stop getting design info from GM?
  21. There's a topic about this kit in the Model Trucks: Truck Kit Reviews section: http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=62635
  22. That's pretty much my line of thinking (hoping?), too. Special Edition '57 Sedan, NASCAR version a year later, then a CS or Ranchero in another three or four years. I'm guessing the '66 Chevelle wagon has sold well of Revell wouldn't brought it back this year, but then they did bring back the SSR kit, too.
  23. When did Revell's '49 Merc kit arrive? 2006? Meh, I can wait, but a Country Squire would be great to have, and I think the Ranchero would be a good seller, too.
  24. It wouldn't surprise me, but I;m guessing they'll wait to see how well the '49 Woodie is received and sells before doing the same with the '57 Ford. Besides, there is a supercharged NASCAR version of the '57 sedan yet to be announced, so I get the feeling both a Country Squire and Ranchero are a few years down the road.
