  1. Some more Ron Cash items: '53 Ford convertible with a Carson top: 49/50 Merc with Carson top:
  2. I don't recall anything about Scale Technologies, but they had some machined aluminum brake rotors and resin calipers: I think Curbside Dioramics was part of R&D Unique?:
  3. Monogram 1/8 '65 Corvette....re-boxed by Bandai for the Japanese market?
  4. I also wonder if the plastic color of the model kits was tied to the promos there were producing, if both were being produced at the same time. It is pretty amazing to see just how many colors the same JO-HAN kit has been molded in...hmmm, that might make for an interesting topic. Sure enough, "Luxo Rods" : Looks like some of the promos were over $50 each, but I'm not sure if this is from 2002 like the color tri-fold catalog is: The below items are what's left?:
  5. I want to say they were around $35-$40. The first time I ever set foot in Hobbytown Model Empire in West Allis, WI in '92 they had a few of them in a display case, including the '55 Pontiac 2-door and '56 Plymouth 4-door with that funky side trim, and I remember being surprised how expensive they were. That was Tamiya kit price territory back then.
  6. There are plenty of browns and greens to chose from, but I think I'll choose one of these: I suppose the goldish color is in the brown family, though.
  7. Maybe this is old news, but it sounds like whoever is listing this is planning a bus kit: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Bus-Prototype-kit-parts-Junk-junkyard-1-25-1-24-1-25th-1-24th-2-/281081699416?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item4171c65c58
  8. Take a look in the Big Boyz section, Ken, as there are a few people who have purchased and are using TDR's engines.
  9. The Parts Box in Australia? Member LAone, Luis Aguilar? http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showuser=6784
  10. Can anyone confirm the SSP reissue did not contain any chrome plated parts? Looking at an eBay listing, it appears the sprue which was chrome plated in the Monster Machines reissue is not plated in the SSP reissue.
  11. How are the transparent parts printed?
  12. Micro-Mark doesn't sell a 1/25 scale spoke shave? That's a really neat model, Harry, and really shows how far we have come in 200 years and how good we have it now.
  13. I don't really know, and I'm not even sure if when I read topics they count as an additional read. I've seen topics which I for sure have read, and they still have zero reads. I'm pretty sure I unchecked the 'Cloak' option in My Profile, but I guess I should double-check.
  14. http://www.ironmodeler.com/2011/01/revell-master-modelers-club.html Monogram had the Young Model Builders Club, and IIRC they sent a Snap-Tite model once a month or so. I have some literature from a re-boxed Aurora 1/32 '65 Mustang kit which was one of the monthly kits, so I'll take some pics. Here are a few kits in one listing on eBay, but it shows the box the models were shipped in: http://www.ebay.com/itm/young-model-builders-club-sets-lot-model-kits-cars-military-airplanes-2-sets-/160992893250?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item257bec9942
  15. I think those were made by Ryan SIlva in Massachusetts, but not totally sure. This is one of his eBay listings, so you could try contacting him through eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/T2-Resin-454-SS-Pickup-Truck-Wheels-1-25-Chevy-Chevrolet-Silverado-/261188086448?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item3cd005eab0
  16. I am hoping to make one seated driver of non-race variety out of three of them.
  17. The 1/32-ish (and I don't use the -ish suffix lightly) Lindberg kits are as close to toys as a model can come, but the subject matter was rather unique. I bought the Grand Am a few years ago for a dollar, and I paid too much. The roof is way too short, and the body proportions are off all over, but these weren't designed to be highly accurate, so take them for what they are. I think the IMC 1/32 scale kits could be worth the time to re-pop, as the bodies look very nice and with the renewed interest in slot cars, there may be a market for them again: I always liked the Avenger GT12 kit, too, but I doubt more than 37 people would ever buy one.
  18. I get your point. As both a seller and buyer, I see it from both sides, and very rarely are there any issues. I've had maybe five people buy and never pay, but with eBay's non-payer bidder claim process, it's really easy to get a fee credit, so I don't really worry about it. You never know what might've happened to them, and there have been one or two times when I either lost a shipping label or just plain forgot to ship something. I also had one seller ship the wrong Shabo tires dry transfers...twice, so I totally understand. That said, each seller and each buyer is different, and shouldn't be lumped together. Feedback is very effective on eBay, and while not perfect, it helps weed out the bad seeds so to speak. I don't get the eBay bashing, either, and I just got a message from eBay stating they are going to a flat 10% fee for certain sellers/categories (maybe all? I dunno), so that's another thing to love about eBay. They have been pretty proactive as far as trying to please both sellers and buyers, and with a business that large, it's no easy task. I find eBay to be an invaluable resource for model kits too, from looking at vintage box art and kit contents to finding that oddball obscure set of wheels you never knew existed. As far as locking this topic, I hope it doesn't come to that.
  19. Love the Hemi-powered Vega.
  20. Addar didn't last too long from what I've read, and I've seen the Planet of the Apes kits they made, but I've never seen this one:
  21. Perhaps the Monogram-branded reissue?: I guess Revell-Monogram was already mixing brands back then.
