  1. Yes, Pass on the Revell snap kits. They are far too simplified and not all that great, to be honest. Plenty of details here:
  2. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fss=1&_stpos=60420-1460&_sasl=bergers10&_sop=10&_saslop=1&_sadis=15&_from=R40&_nkw=1%2F16+monogram+tires&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_Complete=1
  3. I haven't followed what has become of Rod & Custom magazine in quite a while, but if the name Pat Ganahl is familiar to you and you enjoy looking at traditional customs, you'll likely enjoy this page: https://patganahl.com/2021/05/17/the-junior-file-first-look/ Less is more: ?
  4. I still think this would make a great choice. Just about everyone had their fill of the Supernatural kit by now, so here's hoping Round2 will modify the mold into something a few of use can enjoy. ?
  5. There is likely no tire mold stateside which would work with the kit's wheels, and because including no tires isn't a viable option, they went with the next best option.
  6. Same kit as the previous version, save for new decals, box, and probably different tires?
  7. Use a fine tooth razor saw to cut the piece free. Any tool which doesn't remove material, and merely separates it (like, a sharp #11 X-Acto knife blade), is going to stress the clear plastic and stress leads to cracks...not good. Adding a three layers of masking tape at the edge of the cut line, covering the windshield area would be a good idea, too, just in case.
  8. 1/16 Green Elephant is shipping Tuesday. Costs are rising on all raw materials. Please note the Green Elephant will be going to 64.99 MSRP Starting June 15th!
  9. Looks like this one is out, at least in Canada, so it should be available for purchase very soon.
  10. First Sunday each November, and it usually coincides with the Serb Hall show, so it's convenient that way. Last year it was cancelled as the place is usually packed (quite literally), but it's definitely worth the trip.
  11. Two here for $60 each; https://www.ebay.com/p/25044213163
  12. There is a separate base, upon which the car sits, and which contains the batteries. See full instruction sheet here: https://modelkitreviews.proboards.com/thread/979/mpc-3052-16-shaker-vette
  13. Serb Hall is up for sale, so no shows there for the time being. https://www.uniqueeventsshows.com/Contact_Unique_Events.html Really, the Waukesha and Serb Hall shows, as well as the annual open house at Model Empire in West Allis, are pretty much it for large shows in the immediate Milwaukee area.
  14. Ideally, the latter. Here's a look at the eccentric cam which provided the imbalance, and put the shake in Shaker. Part #77, the offset cam, would be hidden inside the bellhousing once assembled:
  15. I was told there'd be no math. ?‍♀️?
  16. Consider the average age of the membership here. While you and I aren't quite there yet, there are plenty who would consider such technology "newfangled". You and I were on the rec.models.scale usenet group in 1993 or so, so we both have been internet savvy for almost two decades, but we know how that changes as people get older. I don't have a TikTok account, so I get it, but I'm open to understanding and seeing the potential it has for anyone interested in this hobby.
  17. I'm glad to see it's being implemented, even if it's only temporary. Others may not be so open to embracing this newfangled way the youths are communicating, however...but they'll adjust.
  18. Time marches forward. ?
  19. Here's a decent look at how the electric motor mounted inside the SBC on the 1/16 MPC Shaker Vette kit:
